What we serve, dish by dish

Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

Our vegan option is a vegan burger or sausage, served in a roll with salads.

Roast pork

The hog roasts slowly for hours, so the meat is tender and juicy, and our chef carves it to order.

For planners, venues and organisers

For venues and planners, we’re happy to work alongside your team.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep you both updated.

Before you choose a spot

A good cooking spot makes the day run smoothly. Ideally:

  • A safe distance from walls, tents and trees
  • Access for our equipment, without steps
  • Flat outdoor ground for the roaster and a gazebo

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

How it works

Service is quick once we start carving: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, with the sides served alongside. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. Around midsummer it stays light in Weston-on-the-Green until about 9:30pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer evening hog roast is normally carved in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the cooking and serving area needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and address.
  2. We check the space and quote.
  3. We get the roaster going hours before you eat.
  4. The chef carves and the team fills rolls or plates.
  5. We clear up and go.

A hog roast or other catering?

The obvious catch is that a hog roast is pork. So we offer lamb, chicken and vegetarian and vegan choices too for anyone who doesn’t eat it. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why book with us

  • Served at the time you choose
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • We bring everything to cook and serve
  • A clear quote with everything listed

Take a look at our pricing and the cost guide.

Allergies and dietary needs

You will get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • We do not offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it is needed
  • Ask us to keep the vegetarian food separate and labelled
  • Find out who doesn’t eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them

Slow roasting needs attention, which is our job, not yours. You can relax and enjoy the day.

A second roast, lamb or chicken, gives people a choice.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
