Party hog roast near Burnt Oak

Rolls are easy for party guests to eat standing up, so hog roast rolls are ideal. Chicken and vegetarian options keep everyone happy. On the menu are apple sauce, rotisserie chicken and hog roast rolls, and we’re regularly asked to cater milestone birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

Most parties in Burnt Oak are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. With no side passage, a rear gate or front garden may work. Send us a picture. The carving happens right in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp.

Looking after everyone

Allergies and dietary needs are easy to manage if we know in advance. Tips:

  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food
  • Let us know roughly how many children
  • Plan separately for anyone who needs halal food
  • Count non-pork eaters so we can bring chicken or a vegetarian option

Make sure the gate or side passage is open when we arrive, so we can wheel the equipment in.

Add coleslaw, salads and jacket potatoes to make it a full meal.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, a PA or on a committee, let us know who we will deal with on the day. We will keep everyone in the loop.

Organisers may ask for documents such as a risk assessment or gas safety information. Tell us what you need and we’ll tell you what we can send.

The menu, dish by dish

Rotisserie chicken

Chicken off the rotisserie, carved or jointed can be served in a roll or on a plate alongside the pork.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Halloumi and vegetable skewers are the vegetarian choice: squeaky, salty cheese with colourful veg.

What a hog roast costs

We don’t use a fixed price list, because every party is different. The main factors are:

  • Crockery choices
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • The date and time of year
  • How many people are eating

Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Tell us your budget and we will suggest what works.

What to tell us

To check availability and the cooking area, tell us:

  • Dietary requirements
  • An estimate of numbers
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • What the outdoor space is like

For a quote, send us a few details: the date and serving time, the venue or HA8 postcode, rough numbers and which extras you’d like. Fill in our quote form.

Burnt Oak: your questions answered

Could you cook in Watling Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Ask them first.

We are gathering after a service at John Keble Church: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Tell us where you’ll gather.

What happens after service?

Our staff clear the serving area, so you’re not left with the mess.

Do you bring plates and clear up?

We bring plates and clear up after service.

Will the smell bother the neighbours?

A friendly word helps: roasting takes hours. Some hosts invite them over for a roll.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and we can hold the roast for a while if the day runs behind.

Do you bring plates?

Plates come as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. Serving indoors is normally fine if the venue is happy.

A hog roast or other catering?

Next to a party buffet, hot carved pork feels more special, and nothing sits out all afternoon. Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Tell us the exact address for an accurate figure.

Why us?

  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • A clear quote with everything listed
  • Choices for people who don’t eat pork
  • Our staff serve and clear

How the day works

When we arrive, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. At midsummer, it is light in Burnt Oak until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Start with the date, the address and roughly how many.
  2. We check the space and send a price.
  3. We arrive early and get the roast going.
  4. We carve and serve at food time.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Name a contact for the day
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
