Party hog roast for Connaught Village

Party hog roast in Connaught Village, slow-roasted on site

A party hog roast turns a garden party into an occasion. We set up in your garden or on the drive, roast slowly for hours and carve when you’re ready, so you are not stuck in the kitchen. We serve apple sauce, a vegan burger or sausage and coleslaw, and typical bookings are for naming ceremonies and family reunions.

Most parties in Connaught Village are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. With no side passage, a rear gate or front garden may work. Send us a picture. Everything is cooked on the day, at your venue, low and slow, for hours, and carved only when you are ready to eat.

Your questions about a hog roast for your party in Connaught Village

What’s the nearest station to Connaught Village?

The closest is London Paddington station, roughly 0.5 miles away.

Can you do a hog roast in Hyde Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Check with them first.

Do you bring a gazebo?

We bring cover for the roaster; plan shelter for guests in bad weather.

Do you provide china?

We supply plates as standard. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

We work back from when you want to eat, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

Do children like hog roasts?

Yes, and tell us how many children are coming, so we get the amounts right.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.

Can you do a hog roast in our back garden?

Describe the space and the way in, and we will give you an honest answer.

Where the roaster can go in Connaught Village

A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:

  • Access for the roaster through a gate or passage
  • Space for our vehicle near the drive
  • A word with the neighbours

Connaught Village is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

Prices and what affects them

Things that change the price:

  • Crockery choices
  • Access to the cooking area
  • The date and time of year
  • The serving time and how long we’re on site

Compare like for like: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Getting an accurate quote

These are the details we need:

  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Allergies we should know about
  • What the outdoor space is like
  • Any venue rules

Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so it is easy to compare like for like. Send us your details through our quote form.

Catered or do it yourself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

Diets, allergies and alternatives

Most people love a hog roast, but it is pork. Here’s how to cover everyone:

  • Give us numbers for vegetarians and vegans
  • Remember stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed

Our chef carves and our staff serve at the agreed time, then tidy up.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Is a hog roast right for your party?

Compared with a restaurant booking, a hog roast at home lets everyone relax in the garden. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. Every event gets its own quote, with everything listed.

Why us?

  • We bring everything to cook and serve
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Fresh carving at the serving station

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. Evening parties in Connaught Village need a little planning: it’s light until about 9:20pm in June but only about 7:05pm in late September. Lights by the food keep the party going.

  1. Send a photo of where the roaster could go.
  2. We confirm it works and send a quote.
  3. On the day, we roast slowly under cover.
  4. We serve when you’re ready.
  5. We leave the garden tidy.
