Fulham parties: what to know

Fulham is about 2 miles south of Kensington, in Greater London. We bring a hog roast for your party to parties anywhere in Fulham, as long as there is an outdoor spot to cook. Fulham is one of 764 places in Greater London where we cater.

After a christening at a church like St. Peter's Church, a hog roast in the garden is an easy way to feed family and friends. Among the historic houses close to Fulham are Fulham Palace (0.7 miles south-west) and Garden Lodge, Kensington (1.2 miles north). For most parties, a garden or hall is easier than a historic venue with strict catering rules.

Wherever your party is in SW6, W6 and W14, we can bring the roaster to you. From Lampeter Square, Fulham High Street and Hurlingham Square or anywhere nearby, we can set up and roast there. Fulham is on the A219 and A304, which makes the journey straightforward. For parties just outside Fulham, we cover West Kensington (1 mile north), North End (1 mile north), Putney (1 mile south-west), Brook Green (1 mile north-west) and Hammersmith (2 miles north-west). Within a short drive, we also cover London (5 miles east), City of Westminster (3 miles north-east), Marylebone (4 miles north-east), St Pancras (5 miles north-east), Shoreditch (6 miles north-east) and Walthamstow (11 miles north-east).

Well-known places in the area include Western Hospital (0.7 miles north-east) and Ladbroke Estate (2.4 miles north). Within reach you’ll find Battersea Park Lake and Campden Hill.

  • Schools near Fulham include Fulham Cross Girls' School and Language College (under half a mile north-west) and Queensmill School (0.7 miles south-east)
  • Pubs nearby include The Cock pub (less than half a mile north-east)
  • Other local spots include Polish Library POSK in London (1.7 miles north-west)

Planning for dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Tell us how many vegetarians and vegans to expect
  • Keep the vegetarian option labelled
  • Request gluten-free rolls

If the party runs late, the roast can wait a little, so just let us know.

Bunting or festoon lights near the serving table make a lovely party setting.

Space, access and the venue

A good cooking spot makes the day run smoothly. Look for:

  • A step-free way into the garden
  • Somewhere dry for guests to eat
  • A spot well away from the house

As a London location, Fulham is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

How to compare hog roast caterers

Fulham: your questions answered

What if our house in Fulham has no side access?

Frequently, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we’ll advise.

Can you cater after a service at St. Peter's Church?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Food is generally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Tell us where you’ll gather.

Do we need a marquee for a party hog roast?

We bring cover for the roaster; plan shelter for guests in bad weather.

Do you come to Fulham?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Fulham and Greater London. Send us the address for a quote.

Can you cook inside a hall or marquee?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. We can frequently serve indoors if the venue agrees.

Do you serve the food?

You do not need anyone else: we carve, serve and tidy up.

When do you start roasting?

Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.

How it works

Expect a calm, organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. A summer party in Fulham stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Send us your party date, address, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check the date and the garden or drive, then send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive hours ahead and start the roast under cover.
  4. Our chef carves and our staff serve when you’re ready.
  5. We clear up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Choose someone to meet us on arrival
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Let us know about tight access

What comes off the roaster

Crackling

Good crackling needs time and heat, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Soft rolls hold the pork, stuffing and apple sauce together, perfect for eating on the move. Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

For event organisers in Fulham

Venues often have rules for outside caterers, from approved lists to where a gas roaster can go. Ask early, and pass on anything they need from us.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, let us know who we’ll deal with on the day. We’ll keep you both updated.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

Compared with a buffet, a hog roast is hot and freshly carved, and nothing sits out all afternoon. Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

Why book with us

  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • Planned to your running order
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • All the equipment comes with us

Read our prices page or what a hog roast costs.

Catered or do it yourself?

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we’ll confirm what comes with it when you ask.

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
  • Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
