Party hog roast in Hale

Party hog roast in Hale, carved to order

Throwing a party is hard work. A hog roast takes the food off your list: we cook, carve and serve. We serve crackling, apple sauce and a vegan burger or sausage, and typical bookings are for retirement parties and family reunions.

In a small place like Hale, a party in the garden or a nearby field is frequently the plan. Tell us about lanes and ground, and we will plan the route. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.

The process

The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We will agree the spot with you beforehand. Sunset in Hale is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so an early-evening carve is normally in daylight. Winter parties, dark by about 3:55pm, need lights by the roaster.

  1. Start with the date, the address and roughly how many.
  2. We check the space and send a price.
  3. We set up hours ahead.
  4. At food time, the chef carves and we serve.
  5. We tidy up and pack away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Plan a step-free way in for the equipment

Getting a price

The quickest way to get a price is to send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Send us your details through our quote form.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

DIY or catered? DIY hire works for relaxed get-togethers; catering suits bigger or more important parties. When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Why us?

  • Self-contained: roaster, cover and serving kit
  • Our staff serve and clear
  • Timed around your day
  • A choice of salads and potatoes

The menu, dish by dish

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Not everyone eats meat, and halloumi skewers give them a proper hot option.

Rotisserie chicken

For guests who don’t eat pork, rotisserie chicken is the easy answer, and children usually like it too.

Catered or do it yourself?

Catered or DIY? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

You could go for a cold buffet, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.

Allergies and dietary needs

Rolls and stuffing generally contain gluten, so ask for gluten-free rolls if you need them. Other tips:

  • Think about children’s portions
  • Plan separately for anyone who needs halal food
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Keep the vegetarian option labelled

At food time, we carve and serve, then tidy up.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

For workplace bookings, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.

If you’re a venue or event planner, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

Could you cook in Weybourne LNR?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Check with them first.

How much room do you need?

A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll confirm the space with your quote.

How far ahead should we book?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But it’s always worth asking: send us your details through our quote form.

Can you do gluten-free?

Ask for gluten-free rolls and we will bring them. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.

Do we need a marquee for a party hog roast?

Not for the cooking, but plan somewhere dry for guests.

What do you need from us on the day?

A clear, level cooking spot, a route to wheel the equipment in and a contact for the day. We’ll bring the rest.

Is our garden suitable?

Describe the space and the way in, and we will tell you if it works.

Before you choose a spot

The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Before booking, check:

  • Space for our vehicle near the drive
  • A gazebo, marquee or room indoors for guests if it rains
  • A step-free way into the garden

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.
