Prices and what affects them

Your quote depends on:

  • Plates or china
  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
  • The number of people
  • The serving time and how long we’re on site

Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.

Getting an accurate quote

To check the date and the space, we’ll need:

  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • What the outdoor space is like
  • An estimate of numbers

Numbers not final yet? Give us your best estimate and we will quote on that, then confirm closer to the date. Send us your details through our quote form.

Party hog roast near Seven Sisters

If you’d rather cook yourself, DIY machine hire is an option. Most hosts prefer us to do it, and spend time with their guests. On the menu are jacket potatoes, rotisserie chicken and apple sauce, and we’re often booked for garden parties and leaving and retirement do’s.

Most parties in Seven Sisters are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. If there is no side gate, tell us about rear access or a front garden. A picture helps. We plan the timings around your day, working back from when you want to eat, so the food is ready at the right moment.

How to compare hog roast caterers

Seven Sisters: your questions answered

Can you do a hog roast in Chestnuts Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first.

What’s the nearest station to Seven Sisters?

Seven Sisters has its own station: Seven Sisters station.

Do you bring a gazebo?

We bring cover for the roaster; plan shelter for guests in bad weather.

How big a hog will we need?

We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we will talk it through when we quote.

What about kids?

Plain pork rolls go down well with children, with chicken as an alternative.

Is there a non-pork option?

We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. Halal meat is not something we offer.

How much does a hog roast cost?

Every booking is quoted individually, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Tell us about your party for a quote.

Do we need our own staff?

You do not need anyone else: we carve, serve and tidy up.

How it works

We arrive hours before you want to eat, since slow roasting can’t be rushed. Your guests will smell it long before they see it. Sunset in Seven Sisters is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so an early-evening carve is generally in daylight. Winter parties, dark by about 3:55pm, need lights by the roaster.

  1. Show us the garden or drive.

  3. On the day, we roast slowly under cover.

  5. We clear up so you do not have to.

Full catering or machine hire?

If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will confirm what comes with it when you ask.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Before you choose a spot

The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Things to check:

  • A side gate or passage wide enough to wheel the equipment
  • Somewhere for us to park nearby
  • A level patio, lawn or driveway

Seven Sisters is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.
