About the food
Crackling
Good crackling needs time and heat, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.
Roast pork
Our chef carves the pork as it’s needed, so it stays hot and juicy right to the last roll.
Wedding hog roast in Braishfield, slow-roasted on site
A wedding hog roast can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. The hog roasts slowly at your venue through the afternoon, then carve at the time you’ve set. We serve crackling, halloumi skewers and spit-roast lamb, and we are regularly asked to cater blessings and renewals and rustic barn receptions.
Rural weddings around Braishfield have a magic of their own, and a whole hog roasting through the afternoon adds to it. Plan firm ground and a route for our vehicle. Our staff serve and clear, so nobody in your party has to serve or tidying up afterwards.

Full catering or machine hire?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you.
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.
Planning the cooking spot
The roaster needs the right spot, because it cooks outside for several hours, and a little planning goes a long way:
- Permission for outside catering
- Flat ground outside the reception for the roaster
- Light near the carving station after dark
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in Braishfield
We’re gathering after a service at Church of All Saints: can you cater?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is generally elsewhere. Tell us where you will gather.
Is Braishfield too small for a hog roast?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
How far ahead should we book?
Popular dates go early. But do ask even at short notice: fill in our quote form.
What if it rains?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.
What do you need from us on the day?
Only the space and a contact number. We bring the roaster, cover and serving kit.
Can we have a hog roast as the main meal?
It works well as a relaxed main meal, with lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside.
Do we need extra food?
With sides, it’s a full wedding breakfast; for evening food, rolls are typically enough.
Can we offer lamb too?
Of course: lamb and pork together give guests a choice.
Working with your venue
For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.
Planning on behalf of a committee? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.
A hog roast compared with other options
Some couples have a formal meal and a hog roast in the evening; others have the hog roast as the main event. Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

How the day works
The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches. We’ll agree the spot with you beforehand. In Braishfield, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so evening food is frequently carved in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 4:00pm.
- Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
- We check the venue’s rules and the date, then send a quote.
- We fit our timings around your running order and the venue.
- The hog roasts through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue.
- We clear away once everyone has eaten.
Preparing for the day
- Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- Choose someone to meet us on arrival
- Plan a step-free way in for the equipment
