Wedding hog roast for Brockbridge

Wedding hog roast near Brockbridge

Wedding timings shift, and a slow roast copes well: a cooked roast holds for a while, so the food copes with a delayed running order. We serve crackling, halloumi skewers and spit-roast lamb, and typical bookings are for farm weddings and post-wedding gatherings.

Rural weddings around Brockbridge have a magic of their own, and slow-roasted pork carved for guests adds to it. Plan firm ground and a route for our vehicle. The carving happens right in front of your guests, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?

If your venue has an in-house caterer, ask whether outside caterers are allowed for evening food. There may be a fee. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why Brockbridge hosts choose us

  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Planned to your running order
  • All the equipment comes with us

How it works

Service is quick once we start carving: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. Afterwards we clear the serving area and pack away. For a summer wedding in Brockbridge, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so evening food is often carved in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 4:00pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and running order.
  2. You get a check on the date and venue, and a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your running order and the venue.
  4. The hog roasts through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue.
  5. We clear away once everyone has eaten.

Preparing for the day

  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage

DIY versus a catered hog roast

If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

Full catering or machine hire? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.

Brockbridge: your questions answered

How far is Brockbridge from London?

Roughly 58 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

We’re gathering after a service at Church of St Mary and All Saints: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Send us the address.

Can the hog roast be for the evening?

It’s one of our most popular wedding bookings. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.

Do you provide china?

Plates come as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we will add it to the quote.

What about coeliacs?

Gluten-free rolls are available on request. Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information.

What do you need from us on the day?

A clear, level cooking spot, a route to wheel the equipment in and a contact for the day. We bring everything else.

Can the hog roast be cooked indoors?

The roaster always stays outside, under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. Serving inside is often possible, with the venue’s agreement.

What if it rains?

The roaster is under cover, so a shower does not stop us. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.

Adding lamb gives people a choice of two roasts, which suits bigger events.

How to compare hog roast caterers

How we price a hog roast for your wedding

We don’t use a fixed price list, since every event is different. The main factors are:

  • Access to the cooking area
  • How long the roast and service take
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • Numbers

What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
