About our wedding hog roast in Hanworth

Couples book a hog roast for the main meal, the evening or both. The hog roasts slowly at your venue through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue. Popular choices include spit-roast lamb, halloumi skewers and rotisserie chicken, and we are regularly asked to cater post-wedding gatherings and rustic barn receptions.

In Hanworth, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. We roast outside, well clear of the marquee. Tell us about access to the field or garden. You will know what’s included before you book: the date, the serving time, the menu and the plates.

Common questions in Hanworth

What’s the nearest station to Hanworth?

Bracknell station, about 1.5 miles north of the centre.

How far is Hanworth from London?

Roughly 30 miles from the centre of London.

Is a hog roast enough for a wedding?

We will plan quantities from your numbers, and the quote lists everything.

What if it rains?

The roaster is under cover, so a shower does not stop us. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.

Do you cover Hanworth?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Hanworth and Bracknell Forest. Tell us the venue and we will quote.

What comes with the hog roast?

The classic: pork in rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.

Do we need our own staff?

We carve and serve for you, then clear the serving area afterwards.

Will our venue allow a hog roast?

Check with the venue first: rules vary. We will talk to them about the cooking spot.

A hog roast compared with other options

Compared with a barbecue, a hog roast feeds everyone at once from one roast without batches coming off a grill. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. Every event gets its own quote, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • Rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Timed around your day
  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated

See our prices page and what a hog roast costs.

What the cooking area needs

The roaster needs the right spot, because it cooks outside for several hours, and a little planning goes a long way:

  • Permission for outside catering
  • A route to wheel equipment to the spot
  • A level, open cooking spot outside the marquee or barn

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Should I cook it myself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. Golden-hour photos in Hanworth at midsummer come around 9:25pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We check the venue’s rules and the date, then quote.
  3. We agree timings with your venue coordinator.
  4. The hog roasts through the afternoon; our chef carves on cue.
  5. We serve, tidy up and slip away.

Before we arrive

  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Have a covered area for eating in case of rain

How to compare hog roast caterers

Working with your venue

Venues often have rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Ask early, and pass on anything they need from us.

If you’re booking for a workplace, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We work to the site’s rules.

Allergies and dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs early and we will help. Some ideas:

  • Count non-pork eaters, so we can add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
  • Request gluten-free rolls if needed
  • Pass numbers for vegetarians and vegans to us
  • If any guests need halal food, arrange it separately

If speeches overrun or the band starts late, we adjust. Just keep us informed.

Add spit-roast lamb for a second roast.

  • Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
  • Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
