Wedding hog roast near Hog Hatch

We look after guests who don’t eat pork: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option. Halal meat is not available. Whether it is the main wedding meal and evening food after the first dance, we will put together a menu of rotisserie chicken, salads and crackling.

In Hog Hatch, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. We roast outside, well clear of the marquee. Tell us about access to the field or garden. We plan the timings around your day, because the roast has to start hours before you eat.

What comes off the roaster

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Not everyone eats meat, and halloumi skewers give them a proper hot option.

Stuffing and apple sauce

Sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce are the classic partners, balancing the rich, salty pork.

Common questions in Hog Hatch

Could you cook in Weybourne LNR?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Ask them first.

How far is Hog Hatch from London?

About 36 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Where will the roaster go at our wedding?

Outside, under its own cover, a safe distance from the marquee. We can serve inside the marquee if the supplier agrees.

Can you work around our timings?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

How much will it be?

Every booking is quoted individually, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Tell us about your wedding for a quote.

Is a hog roast OK for a sit-down meal?

Yes. We serve it on plates with salads and potatoes, with china available, and our staff serve your guests.

What about coeliacs?

Ask for gluten-free rolls and we’ll bring them. We’ll give you full allergen information for every dish.

What if our venue has its own caterer?

Your venue decides: rules vary. We will sort the details with them.

A few lights by the serving table help guests and photos alike.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and running order.
  2. You get a check on the date and venue, and a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your running order and the venue.

Organising for someone else?

If you are a venue or event planner, we can fit around your other suppliers.

Event organisers often ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Let us know what your event requires and we will tell you what we can send.

Catered or do it yourself?

Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.

Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. With a hog roast, one roast feeds everyone at once.
