Wedding hog roast in Upper Burgate, carved to order
A hog roast is made for marquee, barn and garden weddings near Upper Burgate. We cook outside, under cover, and serve inside where the venue allows. Typical bookings include the main wedding meal and garden weddings at home, with carved roast pork, salads and halloumi skewers.
A wedding in a small place like Upper Burgate frequently means a field, a barn or a family garden. A hog roast is made for that: no kitchen, just level ground and cover. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. We bring plates as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.
How we price a hog roast for your wedding
Here’s what affects the price:
- How long the roast and service take
- The journey to the venue
- Menu choices and extras
- The number of people
Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
What to tell us

Upper Burgate questions
We are gathering after a service at Woodgreen Methodist Church: can you cater?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Send us the address.
Do you come out to small places like Upper Burgate?
No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
Do venues allow outside hog roasts?
Check with the venue first: rules vary. We will sort the details with them.
Do you provide china?
Plates are included. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.
Can we have a hog roast as the main meal?
Many couples do exactly that, with lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside.
Do you offer gluten-free rolls?
Gluten-free rolls are available on request. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.
Is a hog roast enough for a wedding?
With sides, it’s a full wedding breakfast; for evening food, rolls are generally enough.
How much room do you need?
A flat, open spot outside, and a way to wheel everything in. A picture helps.
Allergies and dietary needs
Tell us about dietary needs early and we will help. Tips:
- Request gluten-free rolls if needed
- Note which guests don’t eat pork, so we can add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
- Give final numbers in good time
- Put a dietary question on the invitation
We will liaise with your venue coordinator, for access and timings.
Some couples add lights around the serving area; tell your venue or marquee supplier.
Catered or do it yourself?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.
Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.
How the day works
On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. Golden-hour photos in Upper Burgate at midsummer come around 9:25pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

- We send a quote with the menu and staffing.
