BBQ catering in Lea Bridge, cooked on site

For bigger events in Lea Bridge, a barbecue can sit alongside a hog roast, giving guests both the spectacle and the variety. We can quote for either or both. We are frequently asked to cater Fêtes, fairs and sports days and team days and staff summer parties, with pulled pork, BBQ ribs and halloumi skewers.

London gardens around Lea Bridge are often small and close to neighbours, so we look for a spot where smoke drifts away from windows and fences. A word with the neighbours beforehand always helps. You will know what’s included before you book: serving times, the menu, staff and anything else agreed.

As a London location, Lea Bridge is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

Lea Bridge barbecues: local tips

Lea Bridge is about 1 mile north of Homerton, in Greater London. We cover Lea Bridge and its neighbours for events. We bring barbecues to 764 places in Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages.

A green space like Millfields Park is tempting, but a catered barbecue there needs the landowner’s say-so. If guests are travelling by rail, the closest railway station is Clapton station, roughly 0.5 miles west of the centre.

This part of Greater London takes in E5, E10 and E9, so your event can be anywhere in it. Local streets include Prout Road, Muston Road and Gunton Road; an event on any of them works well with outdoor space and a way in. If your venue is just outside Lea Bridge, we also cover Clapton (1 mile south-west), Homerton (1 mile south), Lower Clapton (1 mile south), Hackney Marshes (1 mile south-east) and Upper Clapton (1 mile north-west). We also serve nearby towns such as London (5 miles south-west), City of Westminster (6 miles south-west), Marylebone (5 miles south-west), Kensington (8 miles south-west), St Pancras (4 miles south-west) and Shoreditch (3 miles south-west).

A little further out are Walthamstow Pump House Museum (1.1 miles north-east) and Homerton University Hospital (0.8 miles south). Within reach you’ll find Tower Hill and Hollow Pond.

  • Nearby schools include BSix Sixth Form College (0.5 miles west) and Newcome's School (0.6 miles south)
  • Pubs nearby include The Anchor and Hope pub (0.5 miles north-west)
  • Local facilities include Leabridge (less than half a mile south-west)

What comes off the grill

Salads, coleslaw and potatoes

Crunchy coleslaw suits barbecue food, while salads keep it light.

Sausages

Children typically head straight for the sausages.

Prices and what affects them

There’s no fixed price list, because every event is different. What matters most:

  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • The number of people
  • Whether you want china
  • How easy it is to reach the spot

Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Your date and serving time
  • Where the event is
  • Allergies we should know about
  • An estimate of numbers

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so it is easy to compare like for like. Fill in our quote form.

Lea Bridge questions

Can you get a barbecue into a London garden in Lea Bridge?

Often, if there’s a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.

Can you do a barbecue in Millfields Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

Do you cater for vegetarians?

Yes. There is a halloumi option and a vegan option.

Is BBQ catering only for summer?

The grill cooks under cover, so it works all year. In winter, plan lighting and somewhere warm for guests to eat.

When should we book BBQ catering?

Once your date is fixed, especially for June to September. But ask even at short notice: send us your details through our quote form.

Does rain stop the barbecue?

The barbecue cooks under cover, so a shower doesn’t stop it. Plan somewhere dry for your guests to eat.

What happens after service?

Our staff clear up after service, leaving the spot as we found it.

Should we have every meat?

Most events choose three or four meats, plus the meat-free options. A shorter menu also speeds up service.

Why a catered barbecue beats doing it yourself

Next to a hog roast, a barbecue offers more variety, which helps when some guests do not eat pork. A hog roast is the bigger spectacle, so some events have both. Distance is part of the price: we include travel in the quote. Tell us the exact address so the quote is accurate.

What you get with us

  • Planned to your running order
  • A choice of salads and potatoes
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Meat-free choices on every menu

How the day works

A barbecue is cooked as people eat, so we time our arrival around your serving time. It means food comes off the grill hot. By late September, sunset in Lea Bridge is about 7:05pm; in December it is about 3:55pm. A lunchtime barbecue avoids the dark.

  1. Start with the date, the venue and roughly how many.
  2. We check the space and send a quote with the menu.
  3. We set up under cover before service.
  4. Our chef cooks and our staff serve.
  5. We clear the serving area and go.

How to prepare

  • Tell us which meats you’d like in advance
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Gather dietary requirements early
