Christmas hog roast in Lea Bridge, carved to order

Family gatherings at Christmas can be big, and a hog roast means nobody spends the day cooking. For end-of-year team celebrations and boxing Day and New Year gatherings, we will put together a menu of hog roast rolls, crackling and halloumi skewers.

Around Lea Bridge, a Christmas booking needs a lit, covered outdoor cooking spot. Plan access early. The hog is roasted on site at your Christmas party, low and slow, for hours, then carved fresh for your guests.

Planning for dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs early and we’ll help. Some ideas:

  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Label alternatives clearly
  • Remember stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately

We clear away, even on a cold, wet night.

Add roast potatoes for a festive plate.

What happens on the day

Expect a calm, organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. In December, it’s dark in Lea Bridge by about 3:55pm, so even a late-afternoon Christmas party needs lighting by the roaster and the serving table. We set up in daylight and roast into the evening.

  1. Tell us when and where the party is.
  2. We check the outdoor cooking spot and quote.
  3. The roast starts in the afternoon.
  4. Our chef carves and staff serve.
  5. We pack up, even in the rain.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us final numbers a week or so before
  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages

Lea Bridge is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

Organising for someone else?

Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so it is worth asking first. We will work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.

Venues frequently have rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Check early, and pass on anything they need from us.

Lea Bridge: your questions answered

Could you cook in Millfields Park?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first.

What if our house in Lea Bridge has no side access?

It depends on access: a rear gate or yard normally works. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.

Do we need our own staff?

No need for your own staff: our chef carves and our team serves and clears.

What’s the price?

Every booking is quoted individually, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Ask us for a quote.

What about coeliacs?

We can provide gluten-free rolls if you ask. Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can for summer weekends and December. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Send your date and we’ll check.

Can we hire the machine and cook it ourselves?

We do, if you are happy to roast and carve yourself. We will explain the details with your quote.

How long does the roast need?

A whole hog roasts for several hours, so we arrive well before you want to eat. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.
