Party hog roast near Lea Bridge

Party food needs to be easy to eat, so hog roast rolls are ideal. Alternatives cover anyone who does not eat pork. We serve rotisserie chicken, a vegan burger or sausage and apple sauce, and we’re regularly asked to cater close and cul-de-sac parties and big family get-togethers.

In Lea Bridge, a party at home is the usual choice, and access is the question. With no side passage, a rear gate or front garden may work. Send us a picture. We plan the timings around your day, working back from when you want to eat.

How the day works

We roast under cover, so a shower will not spoil the food. Your guests will still want somewhere dry to eat, such as a marquee, hall or barn. In Lea Bridge, late May sunsets come at about 8:50pm and midsummer ones at about 9:20pm, so most summer parties eat in daylight. After about 3:55pm in December, we need light to carve.

  1. Tell us about your party: date, address and numbers.
  2. We check the garden or drive and quote.
  3. We set up hours ahead.
  4. At food time, the chef carves and we serve.
  5. We clear the serving area and go.

How to prepare

  • Give us final numbers a week or so before
  • Let us know about tight access

Planning for dietary needs

We give full allergen information for every dish. To make the most of it:

  • Count non-pork eaters for the alternatives
  • Think about children’s portions
  • Halal is not offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Check the allergen list, as stuffing generally contains gluten

We set up where we agreed and stay out of the way, leaving the garden to you and your guests.

Rotisserie chicken is popular at family parties.

Where the roaster can go in Lea Bridge

The roaster needs the right spot, because it cooks outside for several hours, so a few things are worth checking:

  • A side gate or passage wide enough to wheel the equipment
  • A spot well away from the house
  • Somewhere dry for guests to eat

As a London location, Lea Bridge is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

How we price a hog roast for your party

We don’t use a fixed price list, since every event is different. What matters most:

  • How many people are eating
  • Plates or china
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • Site access

Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture
  • Which meats and sides you’d like

The quickest way to get a price is to send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Fill in our quote form.

About the food

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Our vegetarian option is halloumi and vegetable skewers: squeaky, salty cheese with colourful veg, in a roll or on a plate.

Crackling

The skin crisps up over the hours of roasting, and there’s a piece for everyone who wants it.
