Christmas hog roast in Cricklewood, slow-roasted on site

We plan for winter weather: we cook under cover, and guests eat somewhere warm. A hall, office or marquee works well. We’re often asked to cater christmas markets and boxing Day and New Year gatherings, with hog roast rolls, rotisserie chicken and apple sauce.

For Christmas parties in Cricklewood, the roaster needs a lit, covered spot outdoors, such as a yard, courtyard or garden. Plan access early, as December is busy on the roads. Timings are planned around your Christmas party, working back from when you want to eat.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

How we price a hog roast for your Christmas party

We work out each quote from:

  • The journey to the venue
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Season and day of the week
  • Which meats and sides you choose

What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.

Getting an accurate quote

To check the date and the space, we’ll need:

  • Rough numbers
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • What the outdoor space is like
  • Which meats and sides you’d like

When you’re weighing up caterers, ask each one exactly what’s included. Ours lists it clearly. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

A hog roast or other catering?

Compared with a traditional sit-down Christmas lunch, a hog roast is more relaxed. Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

Why book with us

  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated
  • Timed around your day
  • Rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Serving and clearing done for you

See our prices page or our hog roast cost guide.

The process

On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. With sunset at about 3:55pm in December, most Christmas parties in Cricklewood are after dark. We bring lighting for the cooking area; the route to it may need lights too.

  1. It starts with your date, venue and rough numbers.
  2. We check the venue and send a price.
  3. We set up under cover in daylight and roast through the afternoon.
  4. Our chef carves and our staff serve hot food at the agreed time.
  5. Afterwards we pack up and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

The menu, dish by dish

Stuffing and apple sauce

Sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce are the classic partners, cutting through the richness of the pork.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Some guests will be vegetarian, so halloumi and vegetable skewers ensure they’re not left with just salad.

Working with your venue

Venues frequently have rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Check early, and tell us what they ask for.

Marquee suppliers normally set distances for cooking equipment, so let them know about the roaster. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Carved to order by our chef, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
