Slow-roasted pork in Keeper's Corner

What comes off the roaster

Spit-roast lamb

Lamb roasted on the spit is a lovely alternative to pork, and handy for anyone who does not eat pork.

Crackling

Crackling takes hours to get right, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.

Catered or do it yourself?

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.

Catered or DIY? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

What a hog roast costs

We work out each quote from:

  • Crockery choices
  • Menu choices and extras
  • The journey to the venue
  • Time on site

The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Details that help

To check the date and the space, tell us:

  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Rough numbers
  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china

Getting a quote is simple: date, place, numbers and serving time. We’ll reply with a clear price and what’s included. Fill in our quote form.

How it works

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so cooking doesn’t depend on mains power. In Keeper's Corner, summer evenings stay light until about 9:20pm, so an after-work hog roast works well in summer. In late September, the light goes at about 7:05pm.

  1. Start with the date, site and numbers.
  2. We sort access and send a quote.
  3. We arrive and set up under cover.
  4. We carve and serve quickly.
  5. We clear up afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Think about shelter for your staff
  • Have a level outdoor spot ready

Is a hog roast right for your staff event?

Compared with a formal plated lunch, a hog roast is relaxed and generally better value. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.

Why us?

  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside

Can we just hire the roaster?

Yes, for confident cooks. We’ll explain the details with your quote.
