Corporate hog roast in Newtown, carved to order

Instead of booking a restaurant, bring the food to the team. Keep everyone on site with a hog roast. For client and customer events and launch days, we will put together a menu of coleslaw, crackling and spit-roast lamb.

For farms and rural sites near Newtown, we can cook in the yard. Let us know about tracks and gates. Everything is cooked on the day, at your venue, slowly, over several hours, then carved fresh for your staff.

Catered or do it yourself?

You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.

What we serve, dish by dish

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

For vegetarians, halloumi and vegetable skewers are cooked separately from the meat, so they get something hot and satisfying too.

Crackling

Crackling takes hours to get right, which is exactly what a slow hog roast gives it.

Before you choose a spot

The cooking area is the main thing to plan. Check these:

  • Level hardstanding or lawn
  • Vehicle access close to the cooking area
  • Shelter for the team

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

From the roaster

  • Halloumi skewers (V)
  • Salads
  • Coleslaw
  • Rotisserie chicken
  • Spit-roast lamb
  • Stuffing and apple sauce
  • Crackling
  • Hog roast rolls
  • Vegan option (Ve)

Organising for someone else?

Many venues set rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Check early, and pass on anything they need from us.

For events on land you don’t own, such as a park or field, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

A hog roast or other catering?

Compared with a restaurant outing, a hog roast is easier to organise and keeps people together. Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Tell us your budget and we will suggest what works.

Why us?

  • All the equipment comes with us
  • An itemised quote
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Carved by our chef in front of your staff

How it works

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. After-work summer events in Newtown have light until about 9:20pm at midsummer and 8:55pm in late May, which suits a team barbecue-style evening. By late September, sunset is around 7:10pm.

  1. Tell us where, when, how many and the serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the site, and a quote.
  3. We set up early and get the hog roasting.
  4. We serve quickly within your break.
  5. Afterwards we clear up and go.

How to prepare

What a hog roast costs

The biggest factors are:

  • The serving time and how long we are on site
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • The journey to the venue
  • Crockery choices

Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.
