Near Northney, workplaces can be far from shops, so a hog roast lunch is welcome. The hog is roasted on site at your staff event, low and slow, for hours.
How we price a hog roast for your team
The price comes down to:
- The date and time of year
- Whether you want china
- Time on site
- Menu choices and extras
Distance is part of the price: we include travel in the quote, with any London charges listed. Give us the address so the quote is accurate.
What we need to know
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:
- Rough numbers
- Your menu choices
- Allergies we should know about
- Anything the venue has asked for
The quickest way to get a price is to send us your date, venue and numbers. A photo of the cooking area helps. Use our quote form.
DIY versus a catered hog roast
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.
Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.
Northney for staff days and open days
Northney is about 3 miles south-east of Havant, in Hampshire. We bring a hog roast for your team to staff events anywhere in Northney, given a suitable outdoor cooking area. Northney is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire where we cater. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 20 miles away.
Commuters will know that the nearest station is Warblington station, about 1.7 miles north. Central London is about 60 miles from Northney, and we cover it as standard. Within about 4 miles of the sea, sites can be windy, so we choose a sheltered spot for the roaster.
Wherever your staff event is in PO11, we can bring the roaster to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Streets in the area include Northney Lane, Spinnaker Grange and Northney Road, and a staff event on any of them works with a garden, drive or yard for the roaster. Other places close to Northney we cover include North Hayling (1 mile south), Warblington (1 mile north), Tye (1 mile south), Stoke (1 mile south-west) and Langstone (1 mile north-west). We also serve nearby towns such as Gosport (8 miles west), Havant (3 miles north-west), Fareham (10 miles west), Horndean (6 miles north), Waterlooville (5 miles north-west) and Petersfield (12 miles north).

Your questions about a hog roast for your team in Northney
What about windy coastal sites?
Yes. We roast under cover and choose a sheltered spot where we can.
Which station is closest to Northney?
The closest is Warblington station, roughly 1.7 miles away.
Do you provide china?
Plates come as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
What should we sort out beforehand?
The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We’ll bring the rest.
Can we just hire the roaster?
Yes, we hire out the hog roast machine. We will confirm what comes with it and how to use it.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and we can hold the roast for a while if the day runs behind.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. We can frequently serve indoors if the venue agrees.
Do we need to provide electricity?
Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Let us know what’s on site.
A hog roast or other catering?
Compared with a restaurant outing, a hog roast keeps everyone on site and saves travel. For larger numbers, a hog roast is generally good value, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.
