The menu, dish by dish

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Choose from salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes, depending on the season and the occasion.

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

Everything goes into a soft roll, easy to eat standing up. Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Catered or do it yourself?

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

How it works

Rain does not stop the roast, because we cook under cover. Your staff will still want somewhere dry to eat, such as a marquee, hall or barn. After-work summer events in Watchmoor have light until about 9:25pm at midsummer and 8:55pm in late May, which suits a team barbecue-style evening. In late September, the light goes at about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us where, when, how many and the serving time.
  2. We check site access and send a price.
  3. We arrive in good time and start the roast under cover.
  4. The team carves and serves on time.
  5. We pack away and leave the site as we found it.

Preparing for the day

  • Check there’s nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Have a level outdoor spot ready
  • Give us final numbers a week or so before

A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Whether you want china
  • The date and time of year

Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.
