Prices and what affects them

We do not use a fixed price list, since every event is different. The main factors are:

  • The number of people
  • The serving time and how long we are on site
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays

Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Tell us your budget and we will suggest what works.

Details that help

These are the details we need:

  • The date and time of the event
  • The venue or postcode
  • Your menu choices
  • A picture of the cooking area

Getting a quote is simple: date, place, numbers and serving time. You’ll get a clear quote listing what’s included. Use our quote form.

Allergies and dietary needs

Most people love a hog roast, but it is pork. Here’s how to cover everyone:

  • Label the alternatives clearly
  • Stuffing generally contains gluten
  • Collect crew dietary needs from the call sheet
  • Tell us about vegetarians and vegans

If lunch moves, we hold the roast a little; just let us know.

About the food

Crackling

Crackling is what people queue for: golden, crunchy and salty, straight off the hog.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Not everyone eats meat, so halloumi and vegetable skewers ensure they’re not left with just salad.

Why choose a hog roast in Rush Green?

Compared with sandwiches from a shop, hot food makes a difference on a long day. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, plus travel and access. There’s no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.

Why book with us

  • We bring everything to cook and serve
  • Carved by our chef in front of your crew
  • Our staff serve and clear
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it

Read our pricing or our hog roast cost guide.

How the day works

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so cooking doesn’t depend on mains power. In December, daylight in Rush Green ends around 3:50pm, so the unit base needs lighting for late service. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. We start with the location, call times and numbers.
  2. You get a check on access and a quote.
  3. We agree our position at base with the location manager.
  4. We roast through the morning and carve fast when lunch is called.
  5. We pack away straight after service.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a covered area for eating in case of rain
  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
