We get to base first thing, roasting through the morning.

For an evening wrap, tell us about lighting at base.

Is a hog roast right for your shoot?

Next to a full location catering unit, a hog roast suits single days and smaller crews. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we’re on site for much of the day, and the quote reflects that.

Why book with us

  • Staff to serve, so you do not have to
  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • Rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Timed around your day

Take a look at our prices page or our hog roast cost guide.

Rotisserie chicken

Chicken from the rotisserie gives people a non-pork choice, turned until the skin is golden.

Spit-roast lamb

Lamb roasted on the spit is a lovely alternative to pork, especially for crew who do not eat pork.

For event organisers in Sprat's Down

Marquee hire companies frequently have rules about cooking near their tents, so tell them a hog roast is coming. The roaster stays a safe distance from the marquee.

For venues and planners, we are happy to work alongside your team.

How it works

Slow roasting is the whole point: hours of gentle heat make the pork soft and juicy while the skin turns into crackling. It rests for a short while before carving. At midsummer, daylight in Sprat's Down lasts until about 9:20pm, which suits an evening wrap at base.

  1. The production office sends us the location, dates, numbers and lunch time.
  2. You get a check on access and a quote.
  3. We agree our position at base with the location manager.
  4. We roast through the morning and carve fast when lunch is called.
  5. We pack up and leave the base tidy.

Getting ready for the day
