Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you.

Your questions about a hog roast for your event in Crofton
What if our house in Crofton has no side access?
Frequently, if there’s a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.
Could you cook in Jubilee Country Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first.
When do you start roasting?
It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it’s several hours. We’ll confirm our arrival time when we quote.
Is electricity needed?
The roaster runs on gas, so no mains power is needed to cook. A supply is useful for lights.
Can visitors buy their own food?
Both models are possible. We’ll agree what suits yours.
Is crockery included?
Plates come as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
How much will it be?
It depends on numbers, the menu and how long we’re on site. Tell us your date and we’ll send a price.
What do you need from us on the day?
Only the space and a contact number. Everything for roasting and serving comes with us.
The process
People love watching the carving: our chef carves the pork in front of the queue, and the crackling is shared out so everyone gets some. At midsummer, events in Crofton stay light until about 9:20pm, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- It starts with your event date, site and expected numbers.
- You get a check on the date and pitch, and a quote.
- We arrive early, set up on the pitch and start roasting.
- We carve rolls to order as the queue moves.
- Afterwards we clear the pitch and go.
Getting ready for the day
- Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
- Give us final numbers a week or so before
- Choose someone to meet us on arrival
