Hog roast for events in Mickleham
Hog roast for events in Mickleham, carved to order
At a fun run or tournament, a hog roast feeds hungry competitors. Popular choices include hog roast rolls, rotisserie chicken and a vegan burger or sausage, and we’re regularly asked to cater car and steam shows and food and music festivals.
At a field event near Mickleham, power and water may be limited; the roaster runs on gas, so that’s fine. Our chef carves in front of your visitors, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
What a hog roast costs
There’s no fixed price list, because every event is different. The main factors are:
- Menu choices and extras
- Whether you want china
- Numbers
- How long the roast and service take
When comparing prices, compare the same things: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. The cheapest quote is not always the best value.
What to tell us
To get the best quote, send us:
- Rough numbers
- Any venue rules
- Which meats and sides you’d like
- Any dietary needs or allergies
Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so you can compare caterers fairly. Send us your details through our quote form.

Mickleham questions
Can you come to a school fair in Mickleham?
Yes, if the school is happy for a hog roast on site. Send us the date and where the roaster would go.
Can you do a hog roast in Norbury Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first.
What do people get?
Roast pork carved into soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Extras include lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers, a vegan option, salads and potatoes.
What will our event need from you?
Organisers often ask for a risk assessment or gas safety details. Share your list and we will respond.
Do we need to provide electricity?
The roaster runs on gas, so we don’t need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Do you do fêtes?
We love fêtes. Ask for details.
Can you sell directly to visitors?
Some events pay for a package, others want a stall. We will agree what suits yours.
Is crockery included?
We bring plates as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
Step by step
On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. Summer events in Mickleham have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- It starts with your event date, site and expected numbers.
- We check the pitch and any paperwork, then quote.
- On the day we set up under cover and get the hog on.
- We carve rolls to order as the queue moves.
- Afterwards we clear the pitch and go.
Getting ready for the day
- Name a contact for the day
- Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
- Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot

DIY versus a catered hog roast
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.
