Hog roast hire in Croydon
About our hog roast hire in Croydon
With hog roast hire, the cooking happens at your event, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp when it’s served. Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options can go alongside. We serve new potatoes, crackling and salads, and we’re frequently booked for christmas fairs and wakes.
In Croydon, the roaster might go in a garden, a church car park or a works yard. Tell us how we get the equipment in, including steps, narrow gates and parking for our vehicle. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

What a hog roast costs
A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

- Plates or china
- Season and day of the week
- Time on site
Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Tell us the exact address so the quote is accurate.
Getting an accurate quote
We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:
- Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china

- Any dietary needs or allergies
- Any venue rules

A hog roast or other catering?
Catered or DIY? With catering we roast, carve and serve; with hire you do the cooking. Most hosts choose catering for anything bigger than a family party. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. Slow roasting means we’re on site for much of the day, and the quote reflects that.
Why us?
- A choice of salads and potatoes
- Serving and clearing done for you
- Cooked on the day, low and slow
- Served at the time you choose

How the day works
Serving is straightforward: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. Afterwards we clear the serving area and pack away. By late September, sunset in Croydon is around 7:05pm, and at Christmas it comes at about 3:55pm. After dark, a lit path to the food makes a difference.
- You tell us the date, the address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
- We check availability and the space for the roaster and send a clear quote.
- On the day we arrive hours before serving and start the roast under cover.
- Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.

Should I cook it myself?
If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
You could go for a cold buffet, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.
For event organisers in Croydon
If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, let us know who we will deal with on the day. We will keep you both updated.
Planning on behalf of a committee? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.
Allergies and dietary needs
You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:
- Collect allergies with your RSVPs
- If anyone needs halal food, plan a separate option
- Put the menu on the invitation
- Tell us about vegetarians and vegans so we bring enough halloumi skewers and vegan burgers or sausages
We bring the cover, the carving table and the serving kit, so you only need to provide the space.
Salads, coleslaw and potatoes make it a full meal.
FAQs for Croydon
Could you cook in Park Hill Recreation Ground?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Ask them first.
Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in Croydon?
It depends on access: a rear gate or yard usually works. Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.
How much room do you need?
A flat, open spot outside, and a way to wheel everything in. Send us a photo if you’re unsure.
How do you work out quantities?
Quantities are based on your numbers, and we’ll talk it through when we quote.
What about guests who don’t eat pork?
We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. We do not provide halal meat.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, so we arrive well before you want to eat. We work back from your serving time.
Is our garden big enough?
Frequently, yes, if there is a level, open spot away from the house and trees, as long as we can get the equipment in. A picture helps us check.
Can you cook inside a hall or marquee?
It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.
- Slow-roasted on site for hours, outdoors at your event
- Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
- Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
- Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
