A hog roast near Sundridge

Full catering or machine hire?

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is generally easier.

How our hog roast hire works in Sundridge

The format is simple and it works for almost any crowd: pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a roll, plus lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan choices if you want them. We are often asked to cater festive gatherings and milestone birthdays, serving hog roast rolls, salads and crackling.

In a rural place like Sundridge, roast pork in a field is hard to beat. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you’re booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We’ll fit in with site rules.

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so it is worth asking first. We’ll liaise with them on access and set-up.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

The obvious catch is that a hog roast is pork. That is why we offer lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers and a vegan option. Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

Why Sundridge hosts choose us

  • Carved by our chef in front of your guests
  • Planned to your running order
  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • All the equipment comes with us

How it works

When we arrive, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. In Sundridge, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer evening hog roast is normally carved in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, we need light by the roaster and the serving table.

  1. You share the when, where and how many.
  2. We check the space and quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up under cover and start roasting.
  4. Our chef carves and our staff serve.
  5. We pack away and leave you to it.

Preparing for the day

  • Make sure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
