Hog roast hire in Tottenham, carved to order

In Tottenham, a hog roast is an easy way to feed plenty of people: a single slow roast, carved to order. We bring the roaster, the cover and the serving kit, and our staff serve and clear. We serve coleslaw, rotisserie chicken and spit-roast lamb, and we are often booked for wakes and clubhouse events.

Around Tottenham, most London bookings are in back gardens, yards, school grounds and car parks. If there is no side passage, a rear gate, yard or communal space may work, and send us a picture. Your quote spells out what’s included: serving times, the menu, staff and anything else agreed, with no surprises on the day.

What a hog roast costs

Each price is built from:

  • How many people are eating
  • Time on site
  • Distance from us
  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken

Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the best fit for your budget.

What to tell us

These are the details we need:

  • Rough numbers
  • Any venue rules
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so you can compare caterers fairly. Use our quote form.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up where we’ve agreed, and get on with roasting and serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Tottenham until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so a summer evening hog roast is normally carved in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, we need light by the roaster and the serving table.

  1. First, you send us your date, address, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive hours before serving and start the roast under cover.
  4. Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.
  5. We clear the serving area and pack away.

How to prepare

  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking

Space, access and the venue

It is worth planning the cooking area in advance. The ideal spot has:

  • Access for our equipment, without steps
  • Nothing overhead that could catch the heat
  • The venue’s agreement to a gas-fired roaster

As a London location, Tottenham is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

For events on land you don’t own, such as a park or field, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

Who books hog roast hire in Tottenham?

A roll needs no knife and fork, which makes a hog roast ideal for relaxed events, while plates and sides suit a sit-down meal.

  • Summer garden parties
  • Community events
  • Wakes
  • Corporate events

PTAs at schools such as The Mulberry Primary School often look for a hot-food stall for fairs and sports days.

What to look for in a quote

  • What crockery is supplied
  • Who carves and who serves
  • How dietary needs are handled
  • Where the roaster goes and what it needs

Our full booking checklist

Planning for dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Remember that stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information
  • Ask us to keep the vegetarian food separate and labelled
  • Collect allergies with your RSVPs
  • We don’t offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it’s needed

If timings shift, tell us: a cooked roast can be held for a while before carving.

Salads, coleslaw and potatoes make it a full meal, and they’re listed in your quote.

The menu, dish by dish

Rotisserie chicken

Golden rotisserie chicken goes into rolls or onto plates alongside the pork.

Crackling

Crackling is what people queue for: crisp, golden and full of flavour, straight off the hog.

A hog roast compared with other options

Next to a buffet, a hog roast is hot, freshly carved and feels like an occasion. A buffet can sit out all afternoon. A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds a lot of people. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

What you get with us

  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • A clear quote with everything listed
  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours

Your questions about a hog roast in Tottenham

What if our house in Tottenham has no side access?

It depends on access: a rear gate or yard typically works. Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

Can you cater after a service at Church of St Mary the Virgin?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Send us the address.

Do you come to Tottenham?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Tottenham and Greater London. Send us the address for a quote.

When do you start roasting?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it is several hours. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.

Is all of Greater London covered?

Greater London is part of our area, including Tottenham. Get in touch for a price.

Do you offer gluten-free rolls?

We can supply gluten-free rolls on request. You’ll get allergen details for everything.

How much room do you need?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We will check it with you before booking.

Can you work around our timings?

We’ll be as flexible as we can. Keep us posted on the day and we will adjust.

  • Slow-roasted on site for hours, outdoors at your event
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
