Hog roast hire for Walton Hall

How our hog roast hire works in Walton Hall

We roast the hog at your event, not in a kitchen miles away, which means it is carved hot, with crisp crackling. Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options can go alongside. For milestone birthdays and summer garden parties, we will put together a menu of crackling, salads and hog roast rolls for your guests.

In a small place like Walton Hall, a hog roast often goes in a field, a farmyard or a big garden. Country lanes and long drives are fine if we know about them, and level, firm ground is the key. Your quote spells out what’s included: serving times, the menu, staff and anything else agreed, with no surprises on the day.

Walton Hall: your questions answered

Is Walton Hall too small for a hog roast?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Is Walton Hall close to London?

About 45 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

How do we prepare?

Only the space and a contact number. Everything for roasting and serving comes with us.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.

How much will it be?

It depends on numbers, the menu and how long we’re on site. Send us the details and we’ll quote.

Do we need our own staff?

No need for your own staff: our chef carves and our team serves and clears.

Can you roast in the rain?

We roast under cover, so the food isn’t affected. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.

What happens after service?

Our staff clear up after service, leaving the spot as we found it.

Is a hog roast right for your event?

A hog roast has one downside: it is pork. So we offer lamb, chicken and vegetarian and vegan choices too for anyone who doesn’t eat it. Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, plus travel and access. Every booking is different, so we quote each one individually.

Why us?

  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated

The process

A typical booking goes like this: we arrive, set up under cover and start roasting, the roast cooks gently through the day, and we carve and serve at the agreed time. Around midsummer it stays light in Walton Hall until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is typically in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so the cooking and serving area needs lighting.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. You get an availability check and a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings and where the roaster goes.
  4. On the day we roast for hours, then carve to order.
  5. We serve, tidy up and leave the spot clean.

How to prepare

  • Give us final numbers a week or so before
  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
  • Have a level outdoor spot ready
