Party hog roast in Ascot, carved to order
Throwing a party is hard work. With a hog roast, the food is sorted: we cook, carve and serve. We serve apple sauce, coleslaw and crackling, and we are regularly asked to cater milestone birthdays and engagement celebrations.
Near Ascot, parties are often in gardens or fields. Tell us about lanes and ground, and we will plan the route. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

Organising for someone else?
Marquee suppliers normally set distances for cooking equipment, so let them know about the roaster. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.
If you’re booking for a workplace, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We will fit in with site rules.
Perfect for your party in Ascot
Most children happily eat pork in a roll, with chicken as a backup.
Hosts in Ascot book us for small gatherings and big outdoor days alike. For example:
- Getting-engaged parties
- Big birthday parties
- Christenings and naming days
- Reunions
A christening at Church of All Souls followed by a hog roast at home is a simple, popular plan.
What to look for in a quote
- How many staff will carve and serve
- Allergen information for every dish
- How long the roast takes and when they’ll arrive
- The space, cover and access they need
Prices and what affects them
The biggest factors are:
- Season and day of the week
- Time on site
- The journey to the venue
- Access to the cooking area
The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.
Getting an accurate quote

Ascot: your questions answered
What’s the nearest station to Ascot?
Ascot has its own station: Ascot station.
Is Ascot too small for a hog roast?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
How do you work out quantities?
Quantities are based on your numbers, and we’ll confirm everything in writing.
Do you clear up?
We clear the serving area and pack away, and leave the area tidy.
What happens in bad weather?
The roaster is under cover, so a shower does not stop us. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.
Do you need power or water?
Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.
Do you do DIY hog roast hire?
Yes, we hire out the hog roast machine. We’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
Is a hog roast good for a children’s party?
Generally, yes, so we can plan quantities.
A closer look at the menu
Stuffing and apple sauce
Sharp, sweet apple sauce and savoury sage and onion stuffing are the traditional pairing. Stuffing normally contains gluten.
Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
Our vegan option is a vegan burger or sausage, served in a roll with salads.
The process
Rain does not stop the roast, because we cook under cover. It’s worth planning a sheltered place for people to eat, too. A summer party in Ascot stays light until about 9:25pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.
- Start with the date, the address and roughly how many.
- We check the garden or drive and quote.
- We arrive early and get the roast going.
- At food time, the chef carves and we serve.
- We clear the serving area and go.
How to prepare
- Give us a contact number for the day
- Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
- Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
Ask for a quote
To get a quote, just tell us the date, where the party is and roughly how many. A photo of the cooking area helps. Send us your details through our quote form.

A hog roast or other catering?
Next to a party buffet, a hog roast is hot and freshly carved, and nothing sits out all afternoon. A hog roast is often good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds plenty of people. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.
What you get with us
- An itemised quote
- Carved to order by a chef
- Choices for people who do not eat pork
- The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling

DIY versus a catered hog roast
Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
What else we do in Ascot

- Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side

- Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
