Party hog roast for Childs Hill

Party hog roast in Childs Hill, carved to order

Milestone birthdays call for something special, and a hog roast in the garden fits the bill. Your guests will smell it from the street. For naming ceremonies and 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays, we will put together a menu of rotisserie chicken, crackling and hog roast rolls and more.

Most parties in Childs Hill are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. If there’s no side gate, tell us about rear access or a front garden. Send us a photo. Our staff serve and clear, so nobody in your party has to serve or tidying up afterwards.

The process

When we arrive, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. A summer party in Childs Hill stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. You tell us the date, your address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
  2. We check the date and the garden or drive, then send a quote.
  3. We set up early and get the hog roasting.
  4. We carve and serve at the agreed time.
  5. We clear up and pack away.

Before we arrive

  • Check there’s nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
  • Let us know about tight access

How to compare hog roast caterers

Questions from Childs Hill

Can you cater after a service at All Saints?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Tell us where you will gather.

Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in Childs Hill?

It depends on access: a rear gate or yard typically works. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we’ll advise.

Do you cover Childs Hill?

Yes, Childs Hill is in our area. Send us the address and we’ll check the date.

What happens in bad weather?

We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.

Do you bring plates?

Plates come as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.

Can you do gluten-free?

Gluten-free rolls are available on request. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.

What about kids?

Most children like pork in a soft roll, with chicken as an alternative.

Do you bring plates and clear up?

We bring plates and clear up after service.

Full catering or machine hire?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you.

Diets, allergies and alternatives

A hog roast is pork, so plan for anyone who doesn’t eat it. Here’s how to cover everyone:

  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Let us know roughly how many children
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Check the allergen list, as stuffing typically contains gluten

Ensure the gate or side passage is open when we arrive, so we can bring everything through.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

For planners, venues and organisers

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so check before you book. We will work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.

Many venues set rules for outside caterers, from approved lists to where a gas roaster can go. Ask early, and pass on anything they need from us.

A hog roast compared with other options

Next to a party buffet, hot carved pork feels more special. Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Ask us and we’ll suggest the best fit for your budget.

The menu, dish by dish

Rotisserie chicken

Chicken off the rotisserie, carved or jointed goes into rolls or onto plates alongside the pork.

Roast pork

The hog roasts slowly for hours, so the meat is tender and juicy, and our chef carves it to order.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
  • Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
