Party hog roast in Edmonton

Party hog roast near Edmonton

For a relaxed party, you can hire the machine and cook it yourself. Most hosts prefer us to do it, so they can enjoy the party. Popular choices include a vegan burger or sausage, rotisserie chicken and hog roast rolls, and we’re frequently booked for christenings and naming days and getting-engaged parties.

Planning a London party in Edmonton? A hog roast keeps you out of the kitchen, at home or a hall with a garden. A long roast means a word with the neighbours. We plan the timings around your day, because the roast has to start hours before you eat, so the food is ready at the right moment.

Catered or do it yourself?

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.

Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.

Edmonton is about 9 miles north-east of City of Westminster, in Greater London. Edmonton is well within our area for parties. Edmonton is one of 764 places in Greater London we cover. We cater events right across the region, from Edmonton to London (about 9 miles away).

Edmonton questions

Which station is closest to Edmonton?

Edmonton has its own station: Edmonton Green station.

What if our house in Edmonton has no side access?

Frequently, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.

Who serves?

No need for your own staff: we carve, serve and tidy up.

How much room do you need?

A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll check it with you before booking.

What about coeliacs?

We can supply gluten-free rolls on request. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.

Will the smell bother the neighbours?

Give them a heads-up, especially if the roaster is near a fence.

Will a hog roast fit in our garden?

Tell us about the garden and the access, and we will tell you if it works.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Let us know what’s on site.

Planning the cooking spot

The right spot for the roaster makes everything easier. Ideally:

  • Flat ground in the garden or on the drive
  • Parking close to the house
  • A gazebo, marquee or room indoors for guests if it rains

Edmonton is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What comes off the roaster

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Choose from salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes, to suit your event.

Crackling

For many people, the crackling is the best bit: golden, crunchy and salty, straight off the hog.

Is a hog roast right for your party?

Next to ordering takeaway, the roast is an event in itself. Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

Why Edmonton hosts choose us

  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Carved to order by a chef
  • No surprises: everything in writing

Read our prices page and the cost guide.

Planners, venues and businesses

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so check before you book. We’ll work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.

Marquee hire companies often have rules about cooking near their tents, so tell them a hog roast is coming. We’ll keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

Step by step

Service is quick once we start carving: the chef carves and the team serves, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. A summer party in Edmonton stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

Prices and what affects them

Each price is built from:

  • Site access
  • The number of people
  • Time on site
  • Season and day of the week

What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.

What to tell us

When you enquire, it helps to include:

  • Any venue rules
  • A photo of the cooking area
  • The venue or postcode
  • Dietary requirements

To get a quote, just send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Use our quote form.

Allergies and dietary needs

Rolls and stuffing usually contain gluten, so ask for gluten-free rolls if you need them. Other tips:

  • Check the allergen list, as stuffing generally contains gluten
  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

Make sure the gate or side passage is open when we arrive, so we can wheel the equipment in.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.
