Hog roast hire across IG4

Our hog roast hire is fully catered: roasting, carving and serving are all done for you. For confident cooks, the machine can be hired on its own. We are often asked to cater wedding breakfasts and evening food and village fêtes and school fairs, serving new potatoes, crackling and halloumi skewers.

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up where we have agreed, and roast, carve and serve without fuss.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
  3. We arrive well ahead, put the cover up and get the hog roasting.
  4. At serving time, the chef carves and the team serves.
  5. We clear the serving area and pack away.

What you’ll pay

Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so each one is itemised. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.

Why hosts in IG4 choose us

  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • Served at the time you choose
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • No surprises: everything in writing

How to get a price

It’s easy to get a price: tell us when, where, how many and what time you’d like to eat. We will reply with a clear price and what’s included. Fill in our quote form.

A hog roast across IG4: what to know

From Redbridge to 0 villages and hamlets, bookings across IG4 range from town gardens to farmyards, and a hog roast suits every kind of setting. Town bookings mean planning access; village bookings mean planning lanes and ground.

Redbridge: If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Redbridge Primary School, a hog roast is a crowd-pleaser. Thinking of a hog roast in Valentines Park? Cooking in a park needs the owner’s permission, typically the council’s, and many parks don’t allow it. Around midsummer it stays light in Redbridge until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is typically in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so the cooking and serving area needs lighting.

A hog roast or other catering?

Compared with food vans, a hog roast serves plenty of people from one roast, with no waiting for individual orders to cook.

Questions to ask before booking

  • How they handle allergens and dietary needs
  • Payment terms and cancellation policy
  • Where the roaster goes and what it needs
  • Arrival time and how long the roast needs

Why a hog roast works

You do not need much on your side: just an outdoor spot for the roaster. We bring the rest.

Our roaster has been booked for all sorts of events around IG4, such as:

  • Staff days and open days
  • Christmas fairs
  • Sports clubs and societies
  • Parties at home

Planning for dietary needs

Standard rolls and stuffing contain gluten, and gluten-free rolls are available on request. A few more tips:

  • Remember that stuffing usually contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them
  • Tell guests what’s on the menu in advance
  • Count anyone who doesn’t eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options

The roaster needs looking after for hours, which is our job, not yours. You can relax and enjoy the day.

We also hire out the roaster for DIY hog roasts.

For event organisers in IG4

Event organisers often ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Let us know what your event requires and we’ll confirm what we can provide.

If you are a venue or event planner, we are happy to work alongside your team, sharing timings and a site plan.

Catered or do it yourself?

If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll confirm what comes with it when you ask.

Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.

IG4 questions

What meats can we have?

The hog is the centrepiece, with lamb and chicken as extras.

How much room do you need?

A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, well clear of walls, tents and branches. We’ll check it with you before booking.

What do you need from us on the day?

Only the space and a contact number. We bring the roaster, cover and serving kit.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

The roaster always stays outside, under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. Serving inside is frequently possible, with the venue’s agreement.

What’s included?

The classic: pork in rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.

Do you provide china?

We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.

Who serves?

You don’t need anyone else: we carve, serve and tidy up.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
