Our hog roast hire in IG2
With hog roast hire, the cooking happens at your event, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp when it’s served. Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options can go alongside. On the menu are halloumi skewers, spit-roast lamb and rotisserie chicken, and typical bookings are for Fêtes, fairs and shows and milestone birthdays.
When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, worked back from your serving time.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
- We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
- We arrive well ahead, put the cover up and get the hog roasting.
- We carve and serve when you’re ready to eat.
- Afterwards we clear up and leave the spot tidy.
Prices in IG2
Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so we list each one in the quote. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

What’s near Newbury Park
Bookings here are frequently close to Valentines Park, Saint Laurence Church and Oaks Park High School and the streets around them. The closest station to Newbury Park is Seven Kings station, about 1 mile south-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Goodmayes Hospital (1 mile east) and Waltham Holy Cross Urban District (1.7 miles north). Green spaces nearby include Hainault Lodge and Hollow Pond.
Hog roast catering in IG2: local guide
Across IG2, we cover 3 towns and 1 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in Ilford, Newbury Park and Gants Hill or a quiet village, the approach is the same: a level outdoor spot, a way in and a plan.
Newbury Park: If you had Valentines Park in mind, ask the council or landowner first: we cannot simply set up a roaster in a public park. Historic houses near Newbury Park include Valentines Mansion (0.9 miles west) and Eastbury Manor House (3 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and gas cooking early. Planning an evening hog roast in Newbury Park? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light at the carving station.
Full catering or machine hire?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. With a hog roast, one roast feeds everyone at once.
Organising for someone else?
Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so it’s worth asking first. We will work with the venue on access and the cooking spot.
For workplace bookings, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.
How we price a hog roast
We don’t use a fixed price list, because every event is different. What matters most:
- How easy it is to reach the spot
- Numbers
- The date and time of year
- Plates or china
Numbers make the biggest difference: bigger groups usually cost less per head, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.
What to tell us
When you get in touch, please mention:
- Dietary requirements
- Your date and serving time
- Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
- Any venue rules
Busy weekends book up early, so ask early for summer Saturdays and December. Tell us your date and we’ll check it: send us your details through our quote form.
Space, access and the venue
The right spot for the roaster makes everything easier. Ideally:
- Space away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
- A step-free route to wheel the equipment in
- Cover for your guests in bad weather
A hog roast or other catering?
Catered or DIY? With catering we roast, carve and serve; with hire you do the cooking. Most hosts choose catering for anything bigger than a family party.

Questions from IG2
When should we book?
As early as you can for summer weekends and December. Quieter dates can frequently be booked at shorter notice. Send your date and we will check.
Will people get crackling?
It is: the skin turns to crackling and everyone gets some.
Is mains power needed?
The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.
Do we need our own staff?
You do not need anyone else: our chef carves and our team serves and clears.
Do you clear up?
We pack everything away after service, and we take our equipment with us.
Is it just pork?
The hog is the centrepiece, with lamb and chicken as extras.
How much room do you need?
Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll confirm the space with your quote.
- Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
- Carved to order by our chef, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
- Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
