Questions from Acton Vale
Can you do a hog roast in Wormholt Park?
Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.
Which station is closest to Acton Vale?
The closest is Acton Central station, roughly 0.5 miles away.
How do you work out quantities?
The roast is chosen to suit how many you’re feeding, so tell us your best estimate. The quote sets it out.
Do you need power or water?
The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Where will the roaster go at our wedding?
Always outside, away from the marquee walls. Serving inside is fine where allowed.
How soon do you get booked up?
As early as you can for summer weekends and December. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Send your date and we’ll check.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
We work back from when you want to eat, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
Hours rather than minutes. We’ll confirm our arrival time when we quote.
How it works
Service is quick once we start carving: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, with the sides served alongside. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. In Acton Vale, evening wedding food frequently coincides with dusk: about 9:20pm at midsummer, 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September. A few lights by the serving table help guests and photos alike.
- Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
- We confirm the date and the venue and send a price.
- We fit timings around your running order.
- The hog roasts through the afternoon; our chef carves on cue.
- We serve, tidy up and slip away.
Getting ready for the day
- Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
- Send final numbers in good time
