Evening wedding food has one job: feed hungry dancers. Hog roast rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling do exactly that, and they’re easy to eat with a drink in hand. We’re often asked to cater vow renewals and blessings and weddings in a marquee, serving salads, carved roast pork and crackling.
For a wedding in Angell Town, the venue’s rules decide where a hog roast can go. Ask about a courtyard or garden, and we’ll work through it together. We bring plates as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

A hog roast or other catering?
Compared with a barbecue, a hog roast feeds everyone at once from one roast. Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so we list each one in the quote. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.
What you get with us
- No surprises: everything in writing
- We bring everything to cook and serve
- Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
- Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated

- Request gluten-free rolls if needed
- Remember that stuffing generally contains gluten, so check the allergen list
- Give final numbers in good time
- Share the menu with your venue coordinator
Running late? A slow roast can wait a little. Just keep us informed.
Gluten-free rolls can be provided for the evening food.
How the day works
The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We’ll agree the spot with you beforehand. In Angell Town, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, which means an evening hog roast is generally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.
- Choose the main meal, the evening food or both.
- You get a quote listing menu, staff and plates.
- We confirm the cooking spot and access with the venue.
- We arrive early and roast slowly on site.
- Our chef carves and the team serves and clears.
How to prepare
- Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains
- Name a contact for the day
- Make sure we can wheel the roaster to the spot

Should I cook it myself?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
