Wedding hog roast for Ash
Wedding hog roast in Ash, carved to order
A wedding hog roast can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. The hog roasts slowly at your venue through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue. Popular choices include rotisserie chicken, carved roast pork and spit-roast lamb, and we’re regularly asked to cater evening food after the first dance and home weddings.
Rural weddings around Ash have a magic of their own, and a whole hog roasting through the afternoon adds to it. Plan a firm route in, especially if it rains. Your quote spells out what’s included: the date, the serving time, the menu and the plates.
Is a hog roast right for your wedding?
Next to other evening food, carving serves plenty of people fast. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.
Why book with us

Full catering or machine hire?
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
About the food

Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in Ash
Do you come out to small places like Ash?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
Do you cater at venues in the Kent Downs National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We will work to whatever the site needs.
Where do you cook at a marquee wedding?
Outside, under its own cover, a safe distance from the marquee. We can serve inside the marquee if the supplier agrees.
Can we have a hog roast as the main meal?
Of course: carved pork on plates with sides, and our staff serve your guests.
What’s the price?
It depends on numbers, the menu and how long we are on site. Tell us your date and we will send a price.
Do you cover Ash?
We do. Send us the address and we will confirm availability.
How long does the roast need?
Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, so we arrive well before you want to eat. We work back from your serving time.
What if it rains?
The roaster is under cover, so a shower does not stop us. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.
Looking after everyone
Standard rolls and stuffing contain gluten, and gluten-free rolls are available on request. A few more tips:
- Give us vegetarian and vegan numbers
- Ask about dietary needs on your RSVP card
- Confirm final numbers a week or so before
- Note which guests don’t eat pork, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
For evening food, we carve as the dancing gets going.
Salads, new potatoes and roast potatoes make a full wedding breakfast.
Planners, venues and businesses
If you’re booking for a workplace, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We will fit in with site rules.

What happens on the day
Slow roasting is the whole point: hours of gentle heat make the pork soft and juicy while the skin crisps into crackling. It rests for a short while before carving. Golden-hour photos in Ash at midsummer come around 9:20pm, so we can time the carving before or after your sunset photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:00pm.
- Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
- We check the venue and the cooking spot and send a price.
- Timings and the cooking spot are agreed with you and the venue coordinator.
- We cook through the day and serve right on cue.
- Afterwards we tidy our area and leave you to the party.
How to prepare
- Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
- Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
How to get a price
The quickest way to get a price is to tell us the date, where the wedding is and roughly how many. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Send us your details through our quote form.
