Wedding hog roast in Broad Green, carved to order

A hog roast gives your wedding a centrepiece: guests gather, the chef carves and the crackling disappears fast. It is food and a bit of theatre. We serve rotisserie chicken, halloumi skewers and carved roast pork, and we’re regularly asked to cater evening food after the first dance and farm weddings.

In Broad Green, venues set rules on outside caterers and gas cooking. Ask about a courtyard or garden, and we will work through it together. Your quote spells out what’s included: the date, the serving time, the menu and the plates, with no surprises on the day.

What we serve, dish by dish

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes turn rolls into a full meal, especially at a sit-down event.

Crackling

Crackling takes hours to get right, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.

Working with your venue

Event organisers frequently ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Tell us what you need and we will confirm what we can provide.

Many venues set rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Check early, and pass on anything they need from us.

Broad Green: your questions answered

Can you cater after a service at Church of St Saviour?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Food is normally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.

Could you cook in Waddon Ponds?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

Can you cater in Broad Green?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, Broad Green and the rest of Greater London included. Send us the address for a quote.

What if our venue has its own caterer?

Check with the venue first: rules vary. We’ll talk to them about the cooking spot.

Can we have both pork and lamb?

Yes, spit-roast lamb can go alongside the pork.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.

Can you cook inside the marquee?

Outside, under its own cover, a safe distance from the marquee. Serving inside is fine where allowed.

Can the hog roast be for the evening?

It is one of our most popular wedding bookings. Rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling go down well after dancing.

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and get on with roasting and serving. At midsummer, sunset in Broad Green is about 9:20pm, so we can time the carving before or after your sunset photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We check the venue’s rules and the date, then quote.
  3. We agree timings with your venue coordinator.
  4. We roast during the day, then carve at the agreed time.
  5. We serve, tidy up and slip away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Gather dietary requirements early
  • Give us final numbers a week or so before

Before you choose a spot

A good cooking spot makes the day run smoothly. Ideally:

  • Lighting for evening service
  • Step-free access for our equipment
  • A safe distance from marquee walls, buildings and trees

Broad Green is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

A hog roast compared with other options

Next to a wedding barbecue, a hog roast feeds everyone at once from one roast. Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • Served at the time you choose

See our prices page and our hog roast cost guide.

Should I cook it myself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll confirm what comes with it when you ask.

What affects the price in Broad Green

The price comes down to:

  • Time on site
  • The number of people
  • Crockery choices
  • Season and day of the week

Numbers make the biggest difference: bigger groups normally cost less per head, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

What to tell us

To check availability and the cooking area, tell us:

  • The venue or postcode
  • An estimate of numbers
  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo

Send us the date, the address or CR0 postcode and rough numbers, plus when you’d like to eat. We’ll check the date and send a quote. Send us your details through our quote form.

  • Slow-roasted on site for hours, outdoors at your event
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
  • Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
