About our wedding hog roast in Chatham Waterfront

We look after guests who don’t eat pork: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option. Halal meat is not available. Whether it is marquee weddings and wedding breakfasts, we can cook halloumi skewers, spit-roast lamb and crackling and more.

In Chatham Waterfront, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. The roaster cooks a safe distance from the marquee. Tell us about access to the field or garden. Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you enquire, and we will give you the allergen information for every dish before you book.

What affects the price in Chatham Waterfront

We do not use a fixed price list, because every wedding is different. What matters most:

  • The journey to the venue
  • Plates or china
  • The serving time and how long we’re on site
  • Access to the cooking area

Midweek and quieter months are often easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

What we need to know

To check the date and the space, tell us:

  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo
  • Your menu choices
  • Rules from the venue or landowner
  • The address or postcode

Every wedding is quoted on its own, because numbers, menu, serving time and travel vary. Tell us about your wedding for a quote: send us your details through our quote form.

Chatham Waterfront questions

Could you cook in The Paddock?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

How far is Chatham Waterfront from London?

About 28 miles from central London.

What about coeliacs?

We can provide gluten-free rolls if you ask. Stuffing usually contains gluten, so check the allergen information.

Will there be enough to go round?

We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we will talk it through when we quote.

Do you serve the food?

We carve and serve for you, then clear the serving area afterwards.

Can you work around our timings?

We’ll be as flexible as we can. Give us a contact on the day and we’ll fit around changes.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Let us know what’s on site.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

The roaster always stays outside, under cover, at a safe distance from walls and tents. We can frequently serve indoors if the venue agrees.

How it works

Serving is straightforward: our chef carves and our staff fill the rolls or plates, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. At a December wedding in Chatham Waterfront, it is dark by about 3:50pm, so plan a lit path from the party to the food, while a June wedding has light until about 9:20pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
  2. We check the venue and the cooking spot and send a price.
  3. Timings and the cooking spot are agreed with you and the venue coordinator.
  4. The hog roasts through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue.
  5. We clear away once everyone has eaten.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Name a contact for the day
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking

What we serve, dish by dish

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Crunchy coleslaw suits roast pork, while salads and potatoes make a plated meal.

Rotisserie chicken

Golden rotisserie chicken can be served in a roll or on a plate alongside the pork.

Full catering or machine hire?

The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.

A barbecue is the other obvious choice, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. With a hog roast, one roast feeds everyone at once.

Space, access and the venue

Before the day, it helps to think about where the roaster will go. We look for:

  • A safe distance from marquee walls, buildings and trees
  • Step-free access for our equipment
  • A level spot near, but not too near, the marquee

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Rotisserie chicken
  • Salads
  • Stuffing and apple sauce
  • Vegan option (Ve)
  • Spit-roast lamb
  • Roast or jacket potatoes
  • Crackling
  • New potatoes
  • Hog roast rolls
  • Halloumi skewers (V)
