Wedding hog roast in Frindsbury, carved to order

For the wedding breakfast, a hog roast becomes a plated meal: carved pork with salads, new potatoes or roast potatoes, with china available on request. On the menu are carved roast pork, new potatoes and salads, and we’re regularly asked to cater post-wedding gatherings and evening food after the first dance.

Weddings in a place like Frindsbury often feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. The roaster cooks a safe distance from the marquee. Let us know about access. Plates come as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

Should I cook it myself?

You could roast a hog yourself, but it’s a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

What affects the price in Frindsbury

Your quote depends on:

  • Which meats and sides you choose
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • Crockery choices
  • The journey to the venue

Distance is part of the price: we include travel in the quote. Tell us the exact address so the quote is accurate.

Getting an accurate quote

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Please include:

  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • Dietary requirements

We need a few details to quote: your date, your venue or postcode, how many people and any menu choices. Use our quote form.

A closer look at the menu

Roast pork

Slow-roasted pork is the heart of the menu: carved thick or thin, as people like it, and served hot.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Not everyone eats meat, and halloumi skewers give them a proper hot option.

Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in Frindsbury

Can you do a hog roast in Broomhill Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first.

How far is Frindsbury from London?

Roughly 27 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Can we add a second roast?

Add lamb or rotisserie chicken as a second option.

Can a hog roast be our wedding breakfast?

Many couples do exactly that, with lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside.

Where does the hog roast go?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and branches. We’ll confirm the space with your quote.

What’s included?

Roast pork carved into soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Extras include lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers, a vegan option, salads and potatoes.

When do you start roasting?

Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We work back from your serving time.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

We work back from when you want to eat, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

Planners, venues and businesses

Many venues set rules for outside caterers, from approved lists to where a gas roaster can go. Ask early, and tell us what they ask for.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, let us know who we’ll deal with on the day. We will keep you both updated.

A hog roast compared with other options

Compared with pizza or other evening vans, carving serves a lot of people fast. Midweek and quieter months are frequently easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Tell us your budget and we will suggest what works.

Why book our hog roast in Frindsbury

  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Cooked on the day, low and slow

Planning for dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs early and we will help. Tips:

  • Pass numbers for vegetarians and vegans to us
  • Remember that stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen list
  • Count non-pork eaters, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
  • Give your coordinator the final menu

On your wedding day, the food should look after itself. We roast through the afternoon and carve at the agreed time.

Salads, new potatoes and roast potatoes make a full wedding breakfast.

What the cooking area needs

Most outdoor spaces can work if a few things are right. Here’s what helps:

  • Power for lights in the evening
  • Step-free access for our equipment
  • A serving area close to where guests eat

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

How the day works

On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. For a summer wedding in Frindsbury, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so evening food is often carved in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 3:50pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
  2. You get a check on the date and venue, and a quote.
  3. We agree arrival, cooking spot and serving times with you and your venue.
  4. We cook through the day and serve right on cue.
  5. We clear away once everyone has eaten.

How to prepare

  • Send final numbers in good time
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
  • Ensure the cooking area is away from walls, tents and trees
