How we price a hog roast for your wedding
Every booking is priced individually, based on a few main things:
- Crockery choices
- Site access
- Which meats and sides you choose
- Travel to Egypt
Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

Wedding hog roast in Egypt, slow-roasted on site
Wedding timings shift, and a slow roast copes well: it can be held for a while once cooked, so a long speech won’t ruin the food. Whether it’s home weddings and wedding breakfasts, we can cook halloumi skewers, crackling and rotisserie chicken for your guests.
A wedding in a small place like Egypt often means a field, a barn or a family garden. A hog roast is made for that: no kitchen, just level ground and cover. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. We bring plates as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.
Catered or do it yourself?
Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.
If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
Questions from Egypt
Do you come out to small places like Egypt?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
We’re gathering after a service at Ebenezer Methodist Chapel: can you cater?
Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Tell us where you will gather.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
A whole hog roasts for several hours, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.
Do you do evening food?
Yes, evening food is very popular. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.
How soon do you get booked up?
The earlier the better for popular dates. But it is always worth asking: use our quote form.
Is mains power needed?
The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Do you bring plates?
Plates come as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we will add it to the quote.
Can we add a second roast?
Lamb and chicken are both available as a second option.

Space, access and the venue
Before the day, it helps to think about where the roaster will go. The ideal spot has:
- Clear space away from the marquee and any branches
- A route to wheel equipment to the spot
- A serving area close to where guests eat
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Planners, venues and businesses
Many venues set rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Ask early, and tell us what they ask for.
Marquee hire companies often have rules about cooking near their tents, so let them know about the roaster. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.
A hog roast compared with other options
Compared with a three-course plated meal, a hog roast is more relaxed and frequently better value. It still feels like a feast. A hog roast is often good value for a crowd, since one roast goes a long way. Extras, china and longer service add to it.
