Wedding hog roast for Elephant and Castle
Wedding hog roast in Elephant and Castle, carved to order
We look after guests who don’t eat pork: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option. We do not offer halal meat. We serve crackling, carved roast pork and rotisserie chicken, and we are regularly asked to cater intimate weddings and wedding breakfasts.
For a wedding in Elephant and Castle, the venue’s rules decide where a hog roast can go. Ask about a courtyard or garden, and we will agree the details with them. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

What the cooking area needs
Before the day, it helps to think about where the roaster will go. The ideal spot has:
- Clear space away from the marquee and any branches
- Lighting for evening service
- A serving area close to where guests eat
Elephant and Castle is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet
Next to a wedding barbecue, one roast feeds all your guests together without batches coming off a grill. For larger numbers, a hog roast is normally good value, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

Should I cook it myself?
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
Organising for someone else?
Planning on behalf of a committee? A single point of contact keeps things simple, particularly when timings shift.
Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so check before you book. We’ll liaise with them on access and set-up.
Looking after everyone
A little planning helps everyone eat safely. A few tips:
- Stuffing normally contains gluten
- Give final numbers in good time
- Share the menu with your venue coordinator
- Note which guests do not eat pork, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
We’re on site for much of the day, out of the way, by the cooking area.

Common questions in Elephant and Castle
Could you cook in Newington Gardens?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
What’s the nearest station to Elephant and Castle?
Elephant & Castle station, in Elephant and Castle itself.
Do you do evening food?
Yes, evening food is very popular. Rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling go down well after dancing.
Do we need to provide electricity?
The roaster runs on gas, so we don’t need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Where does the hog roast go?
A flat, open spot outside, and a way to wheel everything in. A picture helps.
Can you work around our timings?
We’ll be as flexible as we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll adjust.
What if our venue has its own caterer?
Many do, but some only allow approved caterers or charge a fee. Ask your venue early, and we’ll liaise with them.
How long does the roast need?
A whole hog roasts for several hours, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We work back from your serving time.
- Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
- Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
- Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
- Our team serves at your chosen time and clears up afterwards
