Wedding hog roast for Ewhurst

Wedding hog roast in Ewhurst, carved to order

We look after guests who do not eat pork: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option. We don’t offer halal meat. For barn and farm weddings and wedding breakfasts, we can cook rotisserie chicken, new potatoes and crackling for your guests.

Near Ewhurst, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. That is where a hog roast shines: no kitchen needed, just an outdoor cooking spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so you are not left handing out rolls or tidying up afterwards.

A hog roast or other catering?

Next to a wedding barbecue, a hog roast feeds everyone at once from one roast. Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose makes a difference too. Ask us and we will suggest the best fit for your budget.

What you get with us

  • We bring everything to cook and serve
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Carved by our chef in front of your guests
  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours

Take a look at how we price and what a hog roast costs.

The process

On the day, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it’s ready when you want to eat. At midsummer, sunset in Ewhurst is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Choose the main meal, the evening food or both.
  2. You get a quote listing menu, staff and plates.
  3. The venue and we agree where the roaster goes.
  4. We set up and roast for hours.
  5. We carve and serve, then clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Have a covered area for eating in case of rain
  • Check there’s a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps

  • The date and time of year
  • How many people are eating
  • Access to the cooking area
  • How long the roast and service take

Travel matters for the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Tell us the exact address so the quote is accurate.

How to compare hog roast caterers

Common questions in Ewhurst

Can you do a hog roast in Sayer's Croft LNR?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Ask them first.

Do you come out to small places like Ewhurst?

No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

What if things run late?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

Can you cater for vegetarians?

We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. Halal meat isn’t something we offer.

Do you do DIY hog roast hire?

We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we’ll talk you through it.

Is a hog roast enough for a wedding?

For the main meal, add sides such as salads and potatoes; in the evening, rolls on their own work well.

What comes with the hog roast?

Rolls with roast pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. You can add lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options, salads, coleslaw and potatoes.

Where will the roaster go at our wedding?

Outside, under its own cover, a safe distance from the marquee. Serving inside is fine where allowed.

Looking after everyone

We give full allergen information for every dish. To help:

  • Give us vegetarian and vegan numbers
  • Count non-pork eaters, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls for coeliac guests
  • Give your coordinator the final menu

Our staff serve and clear quietly, so the party carries on around us.

Ask for gluten-free rolls for any coeliac guests.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are booking for a workplace, check with facilities about gas equipment and vehicle access. We work to the site’s rules.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep you both updated.

DIY versus a catered hog roast

You could roast a hog yourself, but it’s a long day’s work, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Full catering or machine hire? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
