Wedding hog roast for Hyde End

Wedding hog roast in Hyde End, slow-roasted on site

As a main meal, the hog roast is served on plates: carved pork with salads, new potatoes or roast potatoes, on china if you’d like. Typical bookings include marquee receptions and the main wedding meal, serving carved roast pork, crackling and rotisserie chicken.

Near Hyde End, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. A hog roast is made for that: no kitchen, just level ground and cover. Let us know about access and ground. We bring plates as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

Looking after everyone

Not everyone eats pork, so plan an alternative. Helpful tips:

  • Ask about dietary needs on your RSVP card
  • Give your coordinator the final menu
  • Confirm final numbers a week or so before
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls for coeliac guests

On your wedding day, the food should look after itself. We roast through the afternoon and carve at the agreed time.

Salads, new potatoes and roast potatoes make a full wedding breakfast.

What comes off the roaster

Stuffing and apple sauce

No hog roast roll is complete without sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce, cutting through the richness of the pork.

Roast pork

Everything starts with the slow-roasted pork: carved thick or thin, as people like it, straight from the roaster.

What happens on the day

On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. At midsummer, sunset in Hyde End is about 9:25pm, so we can time the carving before or after your sunset photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  5. We clear away once everyone has eaten.

For event organisers in Hyde End

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, let us know who we will deal with on the day. We will keep everyone in the loop.

Marquee hire companies frequently have rules about cooking near their tents, so tell them a hog roast is coming. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in Hyde End

How far is Hyde End from London?

Roughly 28 miles from the centre of London.

Can you do a hog roast at a venue in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about cooking and vehicles, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

Can we just hire the roaster?

Yes, we hire out the hog roast machine. We will confirm what comes with it and how to use it.

Can the hog roast be for the evening?

It’s one of our most popular wedding bookings. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.

Can you cook inside the marquee?

The roaster stays outdoors on level ground, and we agree the spot with your venue.

What happens in bad weather?

Rain does not stop the cooking. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.

What about coeliacs?

We can provide gluten-free rolls if you ask. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.

What’s the price?

Each event is priced on its own, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Tell us about your wedding for a quote.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to:

  • Which meats and sides you choose
  • Numbers
  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • Plates or china

A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Useful details:

We price every booking individually, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Tell us about your wedding for a quote: use our quote form.

A hog roast or other catering?

Next to a wedding barbecue, one roast feeds all your guests together. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
