Slow-roasted pork in The Valley

How our wedding hog roast works in The Valley

We work with your venue on the cooking spot, timings and access, so nothing is left to chance. On the menu are crackling, carved roast pork and halloumi skewers, and we’re regularly asked to cater post-wedding gatherings and relaxed, low-key weddings.

A wedding in a small place like The Valley frequently means a field, a barn or a family garden. That is where a hog roast shines: no kitchen, just level ground and cover. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you enquire, and we’ll tell you exactly what’s in each dish.

About the food

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Add salads, coleslaw and potatoes to make it a proper meal, especially at a sit-down event.

Crackling

The skin crisps up over the hours of roasting, and there’s a piece for everyone who wants it.

Where the roaster can go in The Valley

The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Before booking, check:

  • Approval from the venue or marquee supplier
  • Flat ground outside the reception for the roaster
  • A short walk from the serving station to the guests

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

What affects the price in The Valley

Each price is built from:

  • Season and day of the week
  • Numbers
  • Crockery choices
  • How long the roast and service take

Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so we list each one in the quote. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.

What to tell us

Good details mean a good quote. Please include:

  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • What the outdoor space is like
  • The venue or postcode
  • Rough numbers

We need a few details to quote: the date and serving time, the venue or ME13 postcode, rough numbers and which extras you’d like. Fill in our quote form.

Should I cook it myself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

FAQs for The Valley

Do you come out to small places like The Valley?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

How far is The Valley from London?

About 42 miles from central London.

Is mains power needed?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.

Will guests be full?

With sides, it is a full wedding breakfast; for evening food, rolls are typically enough.

What about guests who do not eat pork?

The menu has lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. We don’t provide halal meat.

What’s the price?

Each event is priced on its own, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Ask us for a quote.

How far ahead should we book?

Popular dates go early. But it’s always worth asking: send us your details through our quote form.

Can you do our evening wedding food?

It’s one of our most popular wedding bookings. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.

A hog roast or other catering?

Some couples have a formal meal and a hog roast in the evening; others make the hog roast the main meal. A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds a lot of people. Extras, china and longer service add to it.

What you get with us
