Corporate hog roast in Lockerley, slow-roasted on site

Instead of booking a restaurant, bring the food to the team. A hog roast in the car park or grounds keeps everyone together. Popular choices include spit-roast lamb, coleslaw and salads, and we’re regularly asked to cater client hospitality and retirement do’s.

Near Lockerley, workplaces can be far from shops, so a hog roast lunch is welcome. Timings are planned around your staff event, working back from when you want to eat.

For event organisers in Lockerley

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so it is worth asking first. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.

For events on land you do not own, such as a park or field, you’ll need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.

Can we just hire the roaster?

DIY machine hire is available. We’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

How the day works

Your timings come first. If things run late, we can hold the cooked roast for a while before carving, so keep us posted on the day. After-work summer events in Lockerley have light until about 9:25pm at midsummer and 8:55pm in late May, which suits a team barbecue-style evening. In late September, the light goes at about 7:10pm.

  1. Tell us where, when, how many and the serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the site, and a quote.
  3. On the day we set up and roast through the morning.
  4. The team carves and serves on time.
  5. We tidy up and leave the site clean.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches

Allergies and dietary needs

With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:

  • Share the allergen information with the team
  • Request gluten-free rolls
  • Remember that stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed

On the day, we arrive early and set up where agreed, and the roast cooks through the morning.

If it is a themed open day, tell us and we will fit in.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

Our vegan option is a vegan burger or sausage, in a roll, with salad on the side.

Rotisserie chicken

Rotisserie chicken is there for anyone who’d rather not have pork, and children generally like it too.

Should I cook it myself?

The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a whole hog takes hours, and it needs to be cooked through safely. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
