Film set catering in Earl's Court, carved to order

Schedules move, and a slow roast copes. Name a contact in production and we’ll adjust. On the menu are rotisserie chicken, spit-roast lamb and a vegan option, and we are regularly asked to cater long days on set and music video days.

In Earl's Court, access to base can be tight, so send us the route and restrictions. We bring the roaster, the cover and everything we need to cook and serve, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

What a hog roast costs

We don’t use a fixed price list, because every shoot is different. The main factors are:

  • The number of people
  • The journey to the venue
  • The serving time and how long we’re on site
  • Which meats and sides you choose

Numbers make the biggest difference: the price per head generally falls as numbers rise, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

Details that help

When you enquire, please mention:

  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • A photo of the cooking area
  • Allergies we should know about
  • An estimate of numbers

Numbers not final yet? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, then confirm closer to the date. Fill in our quote form.

Looking after everyone

You will get allergen information for everything we serve. To help:

  • Plan separately for halal if needed
  • Tell us who doesn’t eat pork
  • Remember stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Give us vegetarian and vegan numbers

If lunch moves, we hold the roast a little; just let us know.

A second meat widens the menu.

Is a hog roast right for your shoot?

Next to deliveries, a hog roast at base is ready on the call. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, plus travel and access. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

What you get with us

  • Self-contained: roaster, cover and serving kit
  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • Choices for people who do not eat pork
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it

Roast pork

We carve as we serve, which keeps it hot and moist.

Common questions in Earl's Court

Can you do a hog roast in Gwendwr Garden?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first.

Which station is closest to Earl's Court?

Earl's Court has its own station: West Brompton station.

Do you do wrap parties?

We do, with lamb or chicken if you like.

Do you do DIY hog roast hire?

Yes, we hire out the hog roast machine. We will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll adjust.

What about coeliacs?

We can provide gluten-free rolls if you ask. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.

Can the hog roast be cooked indoors?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, away from buildings and marquee walls. Serving inside is often possible, with the venue’s agreement.

Do you come to Earl's Court?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Earl's Court and Greater London. Tell us the venue and we’ll quote.

For planners, venues and organisers

Organisers may ask for documents such as a risk assessment or gas safety information. Let us know what your event requires and we’ll confirm what we can provide.

Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so it is worth asking first. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.

Before you choose a spot

We need room to cook safely and under cover. Things to check:

  • Somewhere for crew to eat if it rains
  • Vehicle access to base
  • Approval from locations

As a London location, Earl's Court is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

What happens on the day

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. On a winter shoot near Earl's Court, the light goes by about 3:55pm, so the unit base needs lighting for late service. In summer, light lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us the base location.
  2. We agree our position with locations.
  3. We roast under cover at base.
  4. Service is quick.
  5. We leave base tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Think about shelter for your crew
