What affects the price in Hatch Warren

The price comes down to:

  • How long the roast and service take
  • Access to the cooking area
  • Crockery choices
  • Distance from us

Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote, with any London charges listed. Tell us the exact address for an accurate figure.

What to tell us

Here’s what we will ask:

  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo
  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • Anything the venue has asked for

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so you can compare caterers fairly. Send us your details through our quote form.

About our film set catering in Hatch Warren

For a wrap party, a hog roast is relaxed and generous. Whether it is commercials and music videos and unit base lunches, we’ll put together a menu of halloumi skewers, new potatoes and spit-roast lamb and more.

For a location shoot near Hatch Warren, base might be in a field or farmyard, so ground conditions matter. Our chef carves in front of your crew, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp.

How the day works

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so we do not need mains power to cook, though a socket nearby is handy for lighting. Because the roast starts early, and in December Hatch Warren is dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. You send the location, date and lunch call.
  2. You get a check on access and a quote.
  3. Our position and arrival are agreed in advance.
  4. We carve to order the moment lunch is called.
  5. We pack away straight after service.

Before we arrive

  • Send final numbers in good time
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
  • Check there is a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps

Planning help

Hatch Warren: your questions answered

Is Hatch Warren close to London?

About 48 miles from central London.

Which station is closest to Hatch Warren?

The closest is Basingstoke station, roughly 2.7 miles away.

Do you bring plates?

Plates are included. China is available at an extra cost.

What about coeliacs?

Ask for gluten-free rolls and we’ll bring them. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.

How big a hog will we need?

We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we will talk it through when we quote.

When do you start roasting?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it is several hours. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.

What if things run late?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and we can hold the roast for a while if the day runs behind.

Is mains power needed?

The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.

Most outdoor spaces can work with a little planning. Here’s what helps:

  • The location manager’s agreement
  • One contact for the day
  • A covered eating area

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

About the food

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Looking after everyone

A little planning helps everyone eat safely. Here are a few tips:

  • Label the alternatives clearly
  • Tell us who does not eat pork
  • Stuffing typically contains gluten
  • Post allergen details at base

We get to base first thing, so the roast is ready by lunch.

China crockery is available on request.

Working with your venue

For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers, sharing timings and a site plan.

Marquee suppliers usually set distances for cooking equipment, so let them know about the roaster. We’ll keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

Next to deliveries, we are already there when lunch is called. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. Every event gets its own quote, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
