If visitors are coming by train, the closest railway station is Shoreham-By-Sea station, roughly 1.5 miles south-east of the centre. A summer fête at St Nicolas' Church is the classic setting for a hog roast. With the sea within about 2 miles, we plan shelter from the wind for coastal events.

Adur questions
How far is Adur from London?
About 45 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.
What’s the nearest station to Adur?
The closest is Shoreham-By-Sea station, roughly 1.5 miles away.
When should we book?
The earlier the better for popular dates. But do ask even at short notice: use our quote form.
Do you do fêtes?
We love fêtes. Ask for details.
Do you need power or water?
The roaster runs on gas, so we do not need mains power to cook. Power can help with lighting after dark.
What if it rains?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain isn’t a problem for the roast. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.
Do you clear up?
Our staff clear up after service, and leave the area tidy.
Do you provide china?
We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.
Diets, allergies and alternatives
Most people love a hog roast, but it’s pork. Here’s how to cover everyone:
- Gluten-free rolls can be brought on request
- Put the menu and allergen information on display
- Make the stall easy to find
- Balance the food line-up
We serve as the queue moves.
Ask about gluten-free rolls.
What a hog roast costs
Each booking is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:
- Season and day of the week
- How easy it is to reach the spot
- The serving time and how long we’re on site
- The number of people
Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
What we need to know
When you enquire, please mention:
- Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo
- The address or postcode
- Rough numbers
- Your menu choices
To get a quote, just send us your date, venue and numbers. A picture of where the roaster could go helps us check the space. Fill in our quote form.
Planners, venues and businesses
Some venues add a fee for outside caterers, so check before you book. We will liaise with them on access and set-up.
If the event is on someone else’s land, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Get that agreed before booking.
A hog roast compared with other options
Next to cold food, hot rolls are welcome whatever the weather. Weekday and off-season dates can be easier to book, and the menu you choose matters too. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest what works.
What you get with us
- Cooked on the day, low and slow

How it works
The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We agree exactly where before the day. Summer events in Adur have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- Organisers send us the event details.
- We check the pitch and paperwork and quote.
- The roast starts before the gates open.
- We carve to order through the day.
- We pack down and take our waste.
Getting ready for the day
- Give us final numbers a week or so before
- Measure the narrowest gate or passage
- Have a level outdoor spot ready
