Hog roast hire in Curteis' Corner, carved to order

In Curteis' Corner, we cater birthdays, weddings, staff days and fêtes. Whatever the occasion, the format is the same: slow roasting at your venue, then carving and serving. We’re frequently asked to cater parties at home and wakes and memorial gatherings, with coleslaw, hog roast rolls and new potatoes.

Somewhere as small as Curteis' Corner, a field, yard or garden is frequently the spot. Country lanes and long drives are fine if we know about them, and firm, level ground matters most. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

Prices and what affects them

Every booking is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Site access
  • Plates or china
  • Travel to Curteis' Corner
  • Season and day of the week

Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

What to tell us

When you get in touch, please mention:

  • Your menu choices
  • Where the event is
  • An estimate of numbers
  • Anything the venue has asked for

Numbers not final yet? Give us your best estimate and we’ll quote on that, and you can confirm nearer the time. Use our quote form.

A closer look at the menu

Spit-roast lamb

Lamb on the spit roasts gently for hours, carved to order at the serving station.

Crackling

Long, slow roasting turns the skin into crackling, and there is a piece for everyone who wants it.

Is a hog roast right for your event?

Next to a buffet, hot roast pork carved in front of you is a different experience. A buffet can sit out all afternoon. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we’re on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.

What you get with us

  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
  • Served at the time you choose
  • A clear quote with everything listed

Read how we price or the cost guide.

Looking after everyone

We give full allergen information for every dish. To make the most of it:

  • Tell us about vegetarians and vegans for the halloumi skewers and vegan option
  • Count anyone who doesn’t eat pork, and order an alternative for them
  • Ask us to keep the vegetarian food separate and labelled
  • Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information

We will be with you for a good part of the day, since slow roasting starts early.

Sides turn a roll into a proper meal, and they’re listed in your quote.

DIY versus a catered hog roast

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.

FAQs for Curteis' Corner

Which station is closest to Curteis' Corner?

Headcorn station, about 2.9 miles north of the centre.

Can you cater after a service at Parish Church of All Saints?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is normally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Tell us where you’ll gather.

What should we sort out beforehand?

The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We bring everything else.

Do you come to Curteis' Corner?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, Curteis' Corner and the rest of Kent included. Send us the address for a quote.

Do you need power or water?

Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Tell us what’s available and we’ll plan around it.

How much does a hog roast cost?

It depends on numbers, the menu and how long we’re on site. Tell us your date and we’ll send a price.

What about coeliacs?

Gluten-free rolls are available on request. Ask for the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten.

Can you work around our timings?

We work back from when you want to eat, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

How it works

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so we don’t need mains power to cook, though a socket nearby is handy for lighting. Because the roast takes hours, daylight is worth planning: in Curteis' Corner, sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June, but by late December it is dark by about 3:50pm.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get an availability check and a clear quote.
  3. Timings and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. We roast slowly on site, then carve for your guests.
  5. Our staff serve and clear, then we pack away.

Getting ready for the day
