Hog roast hire for Dagenham Green

Full catering or machine hire?

Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

If you are confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

How our hog roast hire works in Dagenham Green

The smell of roasting pork is half the appeal. We roast slowly on site in Dagenham Green, then carve the pork into rolls with all the trimmings. Typical bookings include big birthdays and anniversaries and festive gatherings, with spit-roast lamb, new potatoes and rotisserie chicken.

In a London neighbourhood like Dagenham Green, the big question is getting the roaster to the cooking spot. If there’s no side passage, a rear gate, yard or communal space may work, and a picture helps us check. Our staff serve and clear, so you are not left handing out rolls.

Looking after everyone

Some guests will not eat pork, so plan an alternative. A few pointers:

  • Count anyone who does not eat pork, and order an alternative for them
  • Tell us about vegetarians and vegans so we bring enough halloumi skewers and vegan burgers or sausages
  • Ask us to keep the vegetarian food separate and labelled
  • Collect allergies with your RSVPs

Name someone to meet us, who can show us the cooking spot and pass on any changes.

Salads, coleslaw and potatoes make it a full meal.

How the day works

We take care of everything from the first hour of roasting to clearing away, so you can enjoy your event. Light matters for a long roast: in Dagenham Green, sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, but by late December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter bookings need lighting from mid-afternoon.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and address.
  2. We look at the cooking area and send a price.
  3. We arrive early, set up under cover and start roasting.
  4. The chef carves and the team fills rolls or plates.
  5. We pack away and leave you to it.

How to prepare

How we price a hog roast

Things that change the price:

  • Busy dates such as summer Saturdays
  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
  • Numbers
  • How easy it is to reach the spot

Numbers make the biggest difference: the price per head generally falls as numbers rise, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

What we need to know

These are the details we need:

  • The date and time of the event
  • An estimate of numbers
  • Allergies we should know about
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture

A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so you can compare caterers fairly. Send us your details through our quote form.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
