Hog roast hire for your event in Nine Elms

The format is simple and it works for almost any crowd: pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a roll, and alternatives for anyone who doesn’t eat pork. We are frequently asked to cater gatherings after a funeral and work summer parties, serving salads, new potatoes and spit-roast lamb.

Around Nine Elms, most London bookings are in back gardens, yards, school grounds and car parks. Many terraced houses have no side access, so tell us whether there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use, and send us a picture. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

How the day works

The roaster is gas-fired, so cooking doesn’t depend on mains power; a nearby socket helps with lights if service runs into the evening. Because the roast takes hours, daylight is worth planning: in Nine Elms, sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, while in December the light goes at about 3:55pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check availability and the space for the roaster and send a clear quote.
  3. We arrive well ahead, put the cover up and get the hog roasting.
  4. Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.
  5. We pack everything away when everyone has eaten.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us final numbers a week or so before
  • Tell us about narrow gates or side passages
  • Think about shelter for your guests

Planning help

Looking after everyone

Tell us about dietary needs early and we will help. Some ideas:

  • Ask us to keep the vegetarian food separate and labelled
  • Give us numbers for vegetarians and vegans for the halloumi skewers and vegan option
  • Stuffing normally contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
  • Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them

We will be with you for a good part of the day, because the roast starts hours before you eat.

Prefer to cook yourself? Ask about DIY machine hire.

Before you choose a spot

A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • Vehicle access close to the cooking area
  • A level, open spot outdoors for the roaster

As a London location, Nine Elms is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before you book.

Common questions in Nine Elms

Could you cook in Pimlico Gardens?

Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.

Can you cater after a service at All Saints?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is typically elsewhere. Tell us where you will gather.

How long does a hog roast take to cook?

Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.

What space does the roaster need?

A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, well clear of walls, tents and branches. We will confirm the space with your quote.

Do you leave the area tidy?

Our staff clear up after service, and leave the area tidy.

When should we book?

The earlier the better for popular dates. But it’s always worth asking: use our quote form.

Do you bring plates?

We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.

Do you need power or water?

Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Tell us what’s available and we’ll plan around it.

A hog roast or other catering?

Full catering or machine hire? With catering we roast, carve and serve; with hire you do the cooking. Most hosts choose catering for anything bigger than a family party. When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. The cheapest quote is not always the best value.

Why us?

  • We bring everything to cook and serve
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated

Take a look at our prices page or what a hog roast costs.

What comes off the roaster

Roast pork

Slow-roasted pork is the heart of the menu: carved in front of you, a mix of shoulder and leg, straight from the roaster.

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Our vegetarian option is halloumi and vegetable skewers: squeaky, salty cheese with colourful veg, in a roll or on a plate.

How we price a hog roast

Each price is built from:

  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
  • Distance from us
  • How easy it is to reach the spot
  • The number of people

Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, plus travel and access. There is no one-size price, so we quote each one individually.

What to tell us

When you enquire, please mention:

  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • Anything the venue has asked for
  • The address or postcode
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture

Every quote lists the menu, the serving time, staff and plates, so it is easy to compare like for like. Fill in our quote form.

Full catering or machine hire?

Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.
